I can't understand why folks think lab reports are so valuable. Such a teeny tiny sample size. It would be like going out and meeting one person from Los Angeles and afterwards saying ' you know, Los Angeles is AOK!" What does one random ounce out of a block of kratom that weighs a ton REALLY tell you? Jusy saying, you know? I get what you are saying though.

if one is experienced with multiple kratom vendors, has gotten to know and trust them, i'm not sure why such a person would choose an inferior product because they show lab reports.

You could argue that there is less risk, but I think that there are risks people take every day that are greater than the risks from taking the kratom from a well trusted vendor that you know and have experience with.

but I'm not going to argue with your point, whatever it is exactly. if this is important to you, then by all means abide by it. I don't think that the practical risks of using kratom from some of the highly touted vendors here, and some others, is greater than those that post their lab results. I think that several of the vendors i use have these results, which would be available by request, but i find that i'm much more interested in what other customers, or the vendors themselves say about the strains.

I think most consumers dont realize the risk. Salmonella or Ecoli, those could be present and not effect you, but it will make your immune system get up and working big time putting you in a weakened state. You might not get salmonella or ecoli symptoms but you might get sick with another virus/infection because of it. ( i keep getting sick, WTH?)

The person saying testing is stupid because sample size is just spewing uninformed information out. Salmonella and ecoli grown/spread quick as hell. When the kratom is processed in Indonesia if its present in 1 leaf, when it gets crushed into crumble and bagged in a 50kg crushed leaf bag. That whole bag will then basically be all contaminated. Then when they dump that 50kg crushed leaf bag into the milling machine hopper in 200kg batches it spreads to all that. Then if its not cleaned after that batch it spreads to the next grind. We have seen entire shipments with 6-8 strains all fail together for the same thing. When testing for salmonella or ecoli its if its delectable at all, not a certain amount has to be present, any at all and it can be DEAD or ALIVE and you get a fail.

I used to think testing was stupid and probably like the person above. Then the kratom community had the USA kratom Salmonella scare that sent people to the hospital nationwide. We started testing and sure enough we started finding bad stuff.

Sample size is important but if your getting 5 boxes and you test one thats going to give you a pretty damn accurate result that someone on the internet has to make up a good story about how its not accurate.

I mean if you want history to repeat and kratom to get smacked down and embarrassed again keep pushing that testing is stupid. It already happened in the past but we as a community should understand the past and improve.

For akaloid content its fairly accurate per strain. I mean within 10% for sure. We have been retested by the Miami herald and the results they got compared to our labs were only a 0.1% difference in MIT.

I'm not a vendor I don't know. Just my impression. Never said I was overly informed nor was I trying to misdirect. I've been taking kratom for years and to be honest, I have seen no lab tests for anything besides yours. Some of the most popular vendors here do not test that I'm aware of and if they do, I've never seen any tests.
Only one time did I get sick on GoE Green MD #4 way back when, but I'm inclined to believe it was the eggs I ate on the salad bar the day before. I still never took any more of that 250 though, it was burned in my mind that that feeling = GMD#4, you know how that happens with food and stuff sometimes...

No offense, jfish, I for sure think you're an awesome vendor and a great guy and I rescind any impressions or ideas that are incorrect that I've said because obviously you are WAY more involved in that whole side of stuff than I'll ever be. I'll NEVER be.

To add to your list:

Lucky’s
Viable
Kats
Mitraman

Those are just vendors off the top of my head that I’ve seen lab
reports from. I think it’s important to note that some vendors don’t test all of their batches. Probably cost constraints if I had to guess.

JFish is spot on with this one. Lab testing is not BS, unless the vendor is faking them. There is no excuse for any vendor to not be lab testing every batch. Lab tests should make sense as well. Ex. Don't be testing "all your reds" on one report that doesn't break down specifically what the hell it is. That's not acceptable, and only proves the vendor doesn't care about consumer safety or more ban threats for being irresponsible. Rant over.

We have labs on all of our products, they’re on the COA page. I think most places are lab testing nowadays. It’s not cheap but it’s just the cost of doing business.

I know what you’re talking about with those “Greens” or “Reds” mashed together and I never understood it. It’s also unfortunate when the labels for the lab tests are super vague so you can’t match them up with the specific strain.

Is it really that costly to send the strains in for testing?

I 100% agree, with the possible exception of testing “every batch”. I have seen big bulk importers test a 2 ton “batch” of “Green MD” with only one small sample. It’s impossible to homogenize that much so it’s not really batch testing.

I think testing every 100-200 kilos per product is just as good and probably even better than testing every 1,000+ kg “batch”. I believe this is what jfish does and I have to admit, it makes a lot of sense. At the end of the day, lab tests are really providing a “representative sample”.

Testing is expensive but it really does just need to be the cost of doing business. Testing every 100kg equates to $3 a kilo. I think most folks would rather pay $3 a kilo extra for the peace of mind.

The worst is when I have seen vendors do this and the results are borderline pass/fail. They could have a strain in the mixture that is well past fail limits. My experience from buying bigger amounts of specific strains is it seems the 200-300kg range is the max most Indonesians can blend in a blender. If you order 1 ton green maeng da you will most likely get 2-3 blends which might be the same harvest of green or might be different.

The Indonesian blender/mixer and its capacity is what sets the batch. They run the blender long enough now a days where its a homogeneous mixture of various 20-30kg bags of milled kratom powder. Years past it used to be worse because they knew less about what they were doing and you would find red powder spots or darker green spots within a 20kg bag from where they didnt blend the batch long enough. Now its pretty consist. Some suppliers we have used they are more advanced and will label their boxes and the ending number might be -1, -2,-3 which represents the batches. If your a purchaser you should request labeling and specify you want manufactured batches and explain what you want to them. That way you can test the batches and get more consistent results and possibly save a test or two in cost. Most of our kratom is 100kg purchases per strain so we just use 1 test on those.
