RVA Weak Red Maeng Da
Ordered 200g of Red Maeng Da from Herbal RVA and I have to say it’s pretty disappointing.
It is a sedating batch but offers no euphoria or mood boost at all for me. Lasts for maybe 2 hours then gives me a bad headache afterwards.
Pretty disappointed that was a good chunk of cash down the drain.

Re: RVA Weak Red Maeng Da
Good Reds have been hard to come by. I like RVA, but I have yet to receive a euphoric Red from him yet. He has historically had great whites though. I have too been disappointed as I have ordered reds from him many times over the course of a couple years.
Come to think of it, I haven't had a good euphoric Red since an October of 2017 batch of Red Hulu and Red Bali from SoCal. These have become my all time favorite in my collection and I've set them aside and put them on the pedestal as the bar that use to measure all other strains against. So far, nothing has touched it in terms of mood/euphoria; not RVAs PMD, not any of the "fire" whites going around now.
Anyway, the TL;DR is that I think I've come to accept that finding a euphoric red is like finding a Skittle Farting Unicorn. Most are just the way you described
Edit: To help ease your loss, I have found that mixing a slow red that lacks euphoric notes with a green/white that does have these qualities usually makes for a fantastic blend that is likely along the lines of what you're searching for - slow and pain killing/body numbing with a heady buzz

Re: RVA Weak Red Maeng Da
I had the same experience with his red bali and red big bang (red bali batch from December and big bang from October). It wasn't even sedating though, just made me feel like shit and didn't take away witbdrawal (I barely get "withdrawal" I just feel chilly and tired, but it didn't even get rid of that). I'll have to revisit it in the future, maybe it's one of those that will spontaneously work for some reason. I've ordered from rva about 6 times and most times I'm disappointed. I've had decent red Borneo and red bali from him last year but not nearly as good as the other leaf I had. Other times it has been pretty subpar. This is the only time in 4 years of kratom use I've ever had kratom that just didn't work at all though. I think he's highly praised because of his whites and his greens, I see a lot of good reviews for his PMD. I hardly ever see praise for his reds. I only take reds, wish I could enjoy a white but they give me anxiety

Crazy because reds are the only ones that give me euphoria. I only get value out of greens and whites as mixers.Saabertooth wrote:Good Reds have been hard to come by. Re: RVA Weak Red Maeng Da
I’ve had similar experiences with RVA, for the record. Once I nabbed some Gold Bali and White MD that did me alright but even so, after a week I’d start feeling very weird negative effects. Not worth the price point IMO.
I recommend trying yellows and golds mixed with whites if you’re looking for euphoria. Red Bali in general seems to be uniquely sedative and euphoric pretty consistently, but other than that it’s a crap shoot with reds. Like a cup of coffee or a whack with a hammer? Who knows. Ha.
I highly recommend yellow/ golds for more consistent euphoria tho.
If anyone has recommendations on good yellow/golds by the way... say from Smiley’s impressive list...

did you try any of his recent red hulu? the only of his reds that I've REALLY enjoyed a lot.Saabertooth wrote:Good Reds have been hard to come by. Re: RVA Weak Red Maeng Da
Yeah, I've bought his Red Maeng Da in the past & I felt it was a dud. I had my son try it just to be sure & he felt the same. Ok, now I'm gonna get flak for sayin' this, but I've had better from Gaia. Let the darts fly. Every vendor has duds in my experience. RVA has good greens generally, but I'm a little... no, I'm a lot put out by him not telling me he changed sources for PMD when I asked directly. Now I'm assuming the source for that info. is trustworthy. I'd love to try BB's PMD12 to make sure it's what I enjoyed so much back in 2016-2017 from KC, but their payment system is currently down so I can't order yet. If it is the PMD I'm looking for I may switch to BB for my fav vendor.

Yeah RVA switched from KC to Frans for PMD and PMD2 is still Widi AFAIK. I dont get much from the PMD either, just a little anxiety. BBs PMD12 should be what you're looking for, but the October batch was a lot better than this current one IMO.

I havent tried any of his reds lately as I've pretty much given up on them. I do have some Red Hulu from him from over a year ago that's pretty weak thoughdid you try any of his recent red hulu? the only of his reds that I've REALLY enjoyed a lot.
