Benni Botanicals vendor review
Found this vendor in the vendor discussion section - he sells what appears to be vintage leaf and small batch collections from other vendors along with leaf he has sourced himself. After talking about my apprehension with this sort of vendor model, he offered to send me a sample. I’m not one to turn down samples, so I asked for a couple of his own leaf... he sent me 6 25g bags with nice variety.
Communication was great and shipping was fast. Packaging is great for samples, and each bag came with a nice logo bearing label with just the strains and batches handwritten. I opened a couple for a sniff test, and they smelled good and fresh. I have a couple things ahead of this, but I’m looking forward to trying a few things this week and reporting back with detailed reviews.
If you don’t hear from me, it was poison and I’m probably dead.

In the meantime, if someone else has tried his leaf, I would like to hear suggestions on what to try first.

Just started enjoying Benni’s Super Green. It’s a fluffy light green - nice fine grind. Smells fresh.
It’s mid-fast. Seems to have good legs. I’m impressed. He’s got good taste. Looking forward to a red. Possibly tonight.

Took 6g of Benni’s Red Bali a little bit ago. Effects have come on pretty fast, but this one is slooooooowwww

I would go so far as to call this “fire” - it’s a very good Red Bali. Top notch kratom. I would definitely place an order right now if my wife wouldn’t skin me alive for buying more yet again. I might anyway after sampling the rest of what he sent me. I’m very impressed.

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
I got some samples from Benni about a month ago and completely forgot to make a review, you're much better at this than me trigger. I got his super green, which was great for me as well. He also sent me some of his jongkong md and super Bent which I remember enjoying as well. I need to revisit them they were most definitely all noteworthy and quality. Benni was a fntastic person to talk to too. Extremely friendly.

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
I got my samples today. I asked for his slowest ones, and he sent super bent, red bali, gold bali, and fermented red borneo. I believe they're all house strains, as he labeled them all "benni". I have to say I really like the bags, they're more of a rusty dark green/grey (kinda hard to pin down really) and it's a bit more sleek than the gaudy gold that seem to be popular now. I know that's not a big deal, no offense to gold bags, just my first impression. Will post later with reviews

I agree with this. The packaging is probably the best that I've ever seen.. and I've tried countless vendors. Just broke into my first order a few minutes ago and tried the Red Bali, will follow up tomorrow night with a full review after I've tried a few of the other strains that I got.beathappening wrote:I have to say I really like the bags, they're more of a rusty dark green/grey (kinda hard to pin down really) and it's a bit more sleek than the gaudy gold that seem to be popular now. Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
Gotta be honest, I didn't care much for 3 out of 4 strains I got, and the other one worked well in a blend with another red. Red bali, gold bali, and super bent didn't do much. The fermented red borneo was a good slow strain. Maybe his greens and whites are better? Chalk it up to body chemistry or whatever, I really wanted to like it but didn't. I do like the vendor himself and the customer service was great. It is really cool that he has multiple bents and fermented strains though, usually you only see a vendor carrying one or two.

Getting back to my samples from Benni... I had his green md this morning. It’s very good as well. I’ll be placing an order for a split kilo for sure.

I placed an order this week that should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. Didn’t see that as an option. My only hope is that he gave me a sample. Sounds interesting.

Dark Bent sounds like potting soil. KOG has a couple of really dark ones I’m not fond of. What else did you try? Benni definitely has some good leaf.

My large Benni order arrived today. I thumbed through it and I don’t think I ordered any Benty strains. He included a bunch of samples too. Don’t think any of those were bents either. I’ll have to double check. If I want a bent, I’ll order from Botanical Bunny.

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
I gotta admit, I was skeptical of this vendor at first. Reselling leaf from other vendors seemed odd to me. I’ve said this before, but I totally get it now. I would easily put Benni in my top 5 vendors now. His own leaf is great and he’s got good taste in leaf he resells.
He recommended Beleafer to me, so I grabbed 100g of Yellow Malay. Took 6g a couple hours ago. No potentiators. Still haven’t eaten. Just a bit of cheese. But regardless, this shit is the shit! I dare say it’s better than KOG/Smiley Yellow Vietnam. Can’t wait to blend it with a red. It’s on the slow side. Similar to a red. Very well-rounded. I’m real happy I got this.

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
I have to say I've changed my mind on benni. The samples I got were initially just ok, but I set the aside as I was a bit disappointed. I came back to the fermented red Borneo and the super bent and to my surprise, they both worked very well. The fermented red borneo even has some decent euphoria to it, which isn't typically a strong suit for reds. I'm still not sure about the red bali and the gold bali, I don't have any left so I can't reevaluate, but I would be comfortable buying a quantity of a few of his dark strains. Maybe not a split kilo at first, but definitely some 100g bags. Can't speak on the greens or whites, didn't try any of those
Thanks again benni for letting me test those out

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
I tried 7 of some green options from Benni’s Botanical.... all 7 were above average potency and quality was top notch .... I love his Super Jong long, Jong Kong MD, Batak, Nugroz, super green..
All strains mentioned are green!! All noteworthy and fine examples of great Kratom . Customer service exceptional. Fastshipping , and affordable prices... I’m happy to have learned of his company and will be a returning customer...his green Bali is good and mellow , I have one more to try but I assume I’ll like that as well.. upstanding full of integrity vendor.... I’m a Kratom snob, I have very specific needs to be helped through quality Kratom.
Highly recommended!!

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
Yes I tried Benni's and I feel I've owed it to him to review- although it's a mixed bag. Glad to see good reviews though. I ordered a half kg mix (buy4 100's get 1 free). Day before national holiday- I ordered on July 3rd. SOMEHOW I received the box on the afternoon of July 5th. I think he's in the Midwest as in E Midwest kind of. He's got a magic catapult.
SERVICE
First, my attitude about shipping- I don't knock vendors for delivery times because that's not what's important to me. I'd rather have most value in the product and service because service reveals it's value when you have a question or are confused by something. That's when bad service shows up.
Benni rocks on attentiveness and making it a pleasant experience. His way of "creating an environment" for a customer (often overlooked by online businesses- but not impossible) made a positive impression on me. He even divulged information to prevent me from misunderstanding something that would be of no consequence. Means he might like to know same and it suggests he values honesty. To me that's a big deal.
PROFESSIONAL HANDLING AND REGARD
My box - a box, not bubblicious which is fine but invites those "it tore and powder was coming out" kind of reviews (fishing, usually), not a a new or re-used (t's happened) priority flat pack over stuffed and (thankfully) manually reinforced pillow.
PRODUCT
Mine was a mixed bag but that's why it's got to be hard dealing with this stuff. I have not broken the seal on every item and hunch is, the only unopened 100 will be a good one- it's Benni's Green JK MD. A name like that has got to be good. (it better, lol) so I consider this premature. I stopped reviewing based on immediate impressions.
- Benni Green Nugroz- LIKEIT had wondered about Nugroz. Glad I tried it. In-the-Zone green suits me perfectly. Descriptors- clean, attentive and above the Quo state of awareness. All one phase, not up a hill to run back down and take a nap. thankfully
- Yellow Ketapang (I think that's Benni's) Exactly what I needed which was NOT another slow yellow. In fact it's clean and fast. It's close to a white but not as prone to edgy, if at all. Very awake and likes movement, so it's different. has it's place in my tool box. Perfect for mixing and blancing which is what I do. Almost always.
- Someone elses Premium Bali - If you're a fan of Bali- Don't - A name like that shouldn't disappoint and jury's got a couple holding out on this. First use I was happy bc it is NOT Slow. No I don't mean not sleepy slow- how I took it the first time but not that Bali thing either which I reasonably expected and you know what I mean. But was happy to be lively and chipper instead at the time. I did "guess balance" a bit but I "test bulked" it to get a feel for what it's like. Next and subsequent uses revealed that bali qualities I expected based on 3 other grn, 4 red, and 1 White balis- -"It aren't there" Not really... recently found "ok, it has above avg analgesic but too cold for a bali. It seems to have 1 function and have none of the stuff that rounds things out. Certainly not the Bali "feel". Looked up the company- they still have this on their website: "finally got a website! blog message and NO Products on the site. Flash in the pan and smoulder for a season? It is not useless, and might have special use when I find what to pair it with. I'd give it a C / C- It's not Benni's line.
Benni's Red Malay. The one bad patch. Sorry Benni. What happened? This is a Non fermented red- looks very nice but it's sorely lacking in everything. I kept reading that Malay's are hard to get right. (maybe Malay that's not a Malay which might be all Malay until recently)
I never had a disappointment w Malay, regardless of origin, besides one I got direct from Indo once.A green. That was long lasting fastness but nothing that should come with it. Unbalanced
Unfortunately this red Malay has been resisting my magic. Age my ass. Everything of every other sort is hitting strong. Any random dud still does basics. So I don't quit. so far merged 25% of what's left of a good RM - but this absorbs the goods- it lacks the Malay mood, feel and everything else red or otherwise. It's got a ghost but nothing more that that hint. First time in over 3 years. Im surprised.
Now I'll say I've rec'd strains that failed me after 4, tries before, later able to find hidden talent. Now very glad I got them bc they make stuff even better once the code is cracked. This is just so - nope. Using as base- or most of the dose - no good. Low % actually spoiled the dose, 3 times. It's a lot of dust to take space for a 1.75 gm doser who blends. (granted, so is every bag over 75gms but they are valuable)
I'll consider Benni again and I think it is uncommon. Could it be me? I guess but the gamut of tests and trials doubt that. He dropped a couple of sample in that Im saving for travel so if they are good I'll come back and make mention. A "gold test" and "red bali" which I hear is very good.

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
Yeah, one size doesn’t fit all!! That’s for sure !!
I did anreview on like 7-8 different green subtypes..
All of them I truly enjoyed ... but I’m a green guy all the way , but on occasion am blown away by a white , red , yellow or gold ....
I’ll lost my review shortly , but wanted to thank you for your review and honesty, that is worth its weight!!!
For me reds are far and few when it comes to wow... faster reds are what I generally like , and whites that are more like a green ...
Cheers and thx

Re: Benni Botanicals vendor review
UPDATING My comment. This won't get a ton of views. (doing what I intended to do.... progress! hot damn)
I could do another review but inventory rotates and this completes a story with more than one kind of insight to take away.
Ok wer'e back...
I had mixed opinions about strains I got from Benni's, - My impressions have changed for the better. It goes to show that perception and interactions are anything but simple, and being aware of that may not stop you from learning it all over again.
Thanks Benni- loving the Benni's Red Malay now. It is harder to describe than most.
Seems to make time disappear if immersed in an activity- more than some others if you experience this at times anyway.
Comfort that is hard to pinpoint- but a joy when you do. Sociability and confidence are the default mode. Over thinking (no not me) or reluctance - if an issue, can take a time out. So free from anxiety. Pleasant in a distinct and abstract way. Great as a blend component. Not sure it would be ideal as a stand alone strain because it seems very specific in it's aim (so to speak) but this is overcome when blending after figuring the right amount and what to pair it with. Consider that most stuff works better as a team accd to me.
So Benni's red Malay is coming through and it's a real gift.
I mentioned that Premium Bali from Restore Botanicals ...
was not the enhanced mood- deep comfort and dreamy thin I get from other green Bali blends. Thats still true and I've since come to learn that a supplier in Indo. describes one by the same name- as the way I experience it.
So without that expectation-n it is a strong- very fast and long lasting green with relieving qualities that may not be perceived in not in discomfort. Turns out it makes a Killer Green bali when combining with those that have the qualities I was after.- and without potential drowsiness. So there ya go.
I finally opened Benni JK MD- - Strong and very fast. Euphoric aspect is there but experience is still limited with this one. Need more time so that'll be a fresh review if he is still stocking it.
My take on Yellow Ketapang, Green Nugroz (rocks) are in a comment above in this thread.
