Sosa Red Sunda
I got my sosa order this Tuesday I was excited to try the red sunda had a good feeling about it, and the wait was worth it best kratom I've had for months probably this whole year. It's a strong relaxing one great for my anxiety and actually helps me sleep unlike most kratom. I got some red borneo as a sample, I might review later but I have to give it another try
I'll give it a 10/10 for my personal preferences
10/10 sedation
10/10 taste not bitter at all
Does what I want a red to do which is help me relax and calm down.
I wouldn't take this one for pure energy tho, I can take it fine in the morning at lower dosages but I did end up taking a nap just now. Anyway I'm not the best at reviews but I hope this gives a good enough idea, I like it better than the socal reds I've gotten this year definitely. I'm hoping to get more of this sunda soon as possible I'm impressed and not much kratom impresses me anymore. I hope sosa keeps up with this quality, I'd def switch to him as my go to vendor.

Is it a green colored strain or a brownish colored one?
I've been looking for a strongly sedating strain to add to my bedtime mix.

A bright olive green it's more green than brown I'd say, the red borneo is a bright emerald green.herbalhippie wrote:Is it a green colored strain or a brownish colored one?

The only "Brown" red I've got from SOSA has ben the Bentuangie, all the other batches are FRESH green, Baik Bali, RMD, Borneo, Horn. Those are all I've opened yet but I'm about to bust that Sunda open!!!

I wish I had tried that one too I forgot about Sosa for a while and just happened to remember I liked the Red Sumatra from march and was having trouble find a good red mostly ones that just didn't hit the spot for me, gotten too me fast reds just not what I want from reds usually. So I asked for a recommendation and one was the sunda went with that one and I'm glad I did. I wanna try more soon might need to get a sampler.conscious_conundrum wrote:May Red Sunda was really good also.... still had to order some of this 10/10 though!!
Anyway I hope you enjoy the sunda as much as I have.

Your review is really good & I like its style. I will definitely check out the Red Sunda when I can, and if you have another strain, I look forward to the update/review. THX!

Oh goood.
It does seem difficult to come by a sedating red lately. Still haven't got around to SOSA.

Thanks haha I'm glad you like it, I tried to make it simple I have a decent tolerance so not much impresses me. I'll save some of the red borneo I just have a sample but I from what I've had of it it's good more of a daytime red than the sunda imo. I'll try it out on a fresh day tomorrow. I noticed there haven't been many sosa reviews so I just went with it lol.WhiteAngelica wrote:Your review is really good & I like its style. loved the sunda they had a while ago, just ordered some of the new stuff hoping its good.
With the last stuff if i took 2g after taking an normal dose of a more fast strain it would give me a boost of energy.

I got my new R Sunda yesterday and of course tried it yesterday evening. For me at 6g it was not sedating at all! It actually gave me a little boost.....which is interesting because the May version is sedating for me. Regardless it was a very solid strain 9/10 for me.

Got mine today and it's exactly what I was looking for, a strong, sedating red. I just had the best nap!
I'm going to mix it in with my bedtime blend. I might even get another quarter of it.

I dont need these kind of Reds (right now)
But it’d be wise of me to seek some even a little esp. for rough days of OCD, Anxiety, and Stress... oh and Pain.

I'm getting another half and when I get it, I'm going to blend it in with the roughly half a kilo left of my bedtime blend.
I mixed some 1:1 with my bedtime blend last night and I had the best sleep I've had for a while. Very deep, very peaceful. <3

Same here. I actually found it a little closer to mid-spec. I mean I could definitely sleep on it - and I definitely enjoyed it, but it really wasn’t very sedating for me. I’ve got the Baik Bali, Red Indo, Red Horn, Red Borneo, and Red Sunda all from the most recent batches, and the Red Horn has been the only one that’s been kinda sedating to me.

I have really bad anxiety, and so when a strain relax me, i get motivated to do stuff since im not worrying or being scared haha. sleep doesnt come easy to me, so hoping one day i can find a strain that could do that.

potent, seriously heavy. The sedation is off the charts for me! If I can't sleep, Smiley's
Super Green Malay will knock me out...SOSA's Red Sunda from a few months ago is
right behind it.
Those two, along with BB's Chocolate JK from last fall are lights out! I don't use any of
the aforementioned strains unless it's close to bedtime!

Agus green bone is a great mid spec as well as Green Sumatra.SuperRed_Cthulhu wrote:Was wondering if anyone knows what greens are good or best by them and I wish I had more money to spend lol I'd definitely do some more reviews, that agus red bone was great I got a sample might jus get that next too instead of a green.
Green Vietnam and Green Horn tend to be mid fast to fast in my opinion
And green Borneo green Malay are mid slow to slow
Super Green depends on the batch I've noticed some are nice and slow and others are speedy enough to give me wobbles. But honestly I'm just probe to wobbles with faster strains usually

Agus Widhiyanto puts out some great leaf - I got a fire batch from him > 1 year ago. Then, I've heard SoSa "may have" cut a supply deal with Agus, to buy up his BEST leaf.. Small Indo supplier with quality control... Bottom line, I'd seriously consider grabbing any Red Bone, especially this time of year

Cthulhu hey what's going on brudda. I suspect that it has to do with nerutransmitter levels, gut bacteria/PH, and overall how active one is.SuperRed_Cthulhu wrote:Still think it's weird how some that are sedating for others will be good energy boosting strains for others lol, aye as long as you like that's what really matters I wish I had tried the may batch but it is what it is.conscious_conundrum wrote:I got my new R Sunda yesterday and of course tried it yesterday evening. If somone takes a Red that is known for body relaxation, it is more likely full of goodness that increases Serotonin more so then dopamine. When your serotonin is higher then your dopamine, you won't be energetic but rather relaxed and possibly confortable just where you are at. If one takes a White known for energy, it's more likely dopamine heavy. When one raises Dopamine higher then serotonin, anxiety and nervousness comes into play. This is why Green is well tolerated with most kratomers, it has a more leveled profile of dopamine/serotonin boosting properties. You can combat these problems though. Mixing red with a known fast strain is one of them. I personally beleive you get way more out of kratom after a good sweaty 20-30 minute workout, you have to sweat though. This raises your PH and primes your dose by increasing blood flow, this in it's nature releases endorphins/ serotonin/dopamine/norepinephrine. Raised PH and improved blood flow mixed with healthy gut bacteria from a clean diet increases the bodys ability to process and utilize these fantastic alkaloids ^_^ and lessens your chance of feeling too wired or too sedated.
Mindset, current mood/outlook on life, and environment/social connections play into effect with neurotransmitter levels.
Something that I found out from my own research and testing that is of great importance as well: Amino Acids (Protein) & FIBER. I'm not talking about that bs Metamucil, I mean real fiber from foods. I used to be one that thought I couldn't feel affects from Kratom if I dosed it with food but i was wrong. It seems much more stable for me and now I don't avoid eating just to feel the effects, which ended up making me hangry often. Avocado's, Bananas, raspberries, blackberries, pears, blueberries, apples, brown rice, peas, pecans, pistachios, almonds, broccoli, black beans, lima beans, CHIA SEEDS (amazing added effect & high fiber with no taste), flax seeds, coconut and did I say DARK CHOCOLATE! (real dark chocolate) are to name some of the fiber rich foods. You want to aim for 20-30g fiber a day and as long as you don't over eat, you will still greatly feel the effects if you dose with food. Over eating consist of eating more protein/fat/carbs in one sitting than your body needs or can process at that time. The more active you are, the higher metabolism and the easier it is to process a bigger meal. I eat a big bowl of mixed fruit with dark chocolate, chia seeds, almond butter, and coconut milk with my dose and it's fantastic, and o yeah lots of water!! Exercise combined with this way of eating restores your digestive enzymes so that the protein (amino acids) you consume gets utilized. It also will allow healthy beneficial gut bacteria to thrive and breakdown those alkaloids better to utilize. Everyone's needs are different so I suggest finding out what ratio works for you that is sustainable.
You can supplement Essential Amino Acids, I personally take the Body Health Perfect Amino brand. Or if you can get your hand on some good quality proteins, that will supply you with the amino acids your brain and body needs to function. Without the proper amino acid levels, you don't get much from kratom. I personally shoot for 60g daily being at 175 as i'm not trying to bulk up, just light working out.
Stay EZ boiiis & gals.

Thanks for this post very informative I eat a lot of seeds, nuts, veggies, and oats. Definitely think it helps kratom work well and when I eat healthy kratom doesn't cause me problems, Cacao seems to give a boost like you said.WickedMadScientist wrote:Cthulhu hey what's going on brudda.
