What is your go-to pain kratom?

Post by javagurl62 »

I'm having some major back pain today, actually started earlier this week but today it was screaming. I'm not sure if this pain is related to my very arthritic left hip. I have a couple buging disks in my lower back but this feels entirely muscular. I'm probably going to do a Mitra Man order based on I'm out of Red MD and a recent review. I have been on a white tangent lately do to my work schedule and location. That being said, this pain has me making pinks with white and red  I spent today on Baclofen, Ativan huge doses of kratom and other herbal supplements 8-) I ended up asleep in my new Sleep Number bed set on Zero Gravity.

Smiley's Super Royal Bent. I have to blend it with a white or green strain during the day if I want to do something other than pass out. For a less sedating strain, I would go try Mitra's Red Bali or Red Borneo.

I’ve been on this journey for back pain relief for over a year so I’ve tried a lot of vendors and strains. These are who work for me: Mitra Man, Fused flora, SoFlo, soul, restore, & smiley. I’m always looking for vendors and trying new ones.

Benni botanicals has quite a selection of dark reds, bents from light brown to nearly black, super bents, and gets a lot of hype around here. Those seem to be the best for pain. There's a few recent reviews up in the review forum

Of course Ativan or other muscle relaxants would be a great help like OP said. I've never had luck with the OTC stuff. Something mixing ibuprofen with Tylenol at the same time can take it down to where you can manage it.

Thanks allá! I have accounts (and stash) from many of the vendors mentioned. I want to reply in more detail on some of your other comments. I’m at work and using my iPad so not the best medium for actual typing ( my keyboard case is also at home & it’s still not as good as a full sized keyboard ). I’m heading out shortly but have to stop for groceries on the way home. That being said, I’m feeling better enough to do the grocery store. 8-)

Sosa Red Jungle is a good pain relief strain that is super long lasting. I don't find it very sedating either!

A good one for me has been KOG's Red Dragon. It's almost all pain relief. First time I took it alone I almost thought it was a dud but when mixed with a faster strain it became really apparent how much pain relief it added. I love how effective pink mixes are for pain and uplifting my mood! Red Tenaga(green and red) and Yellow Bota(full spectrum) are both good mid spec blends from KOG as well that are great on their own for daytime pain.

You mention Soul... Have you tried the OGWGK? That's been a great recent addition I've found very effective and long lasting to add some pain relief.

Mitra Mans Gold MD is excellent and the Gold Borneo from him is amazing.

I hope you find more of what you're looking for. Chronic pain is no fun but thankfully we have this wonderful forum full of helpful people to crowdsource information to help us!

I agree. I especially feel bad for the elderly who have worked their asses off their whole lives and now just want to live in comfort, but instead have to deal with debilitating pain because a pill might make them "feel too good".

Managing my pain is a 24/7 job. I can list some favorites and go-to vendors and strains, but there is a price differential.

I have had excellent results with Red MD, period. Usually doesn't matter the vendor. That is not all, though. From Smileytime Herbals, I take Red Sandai for pain as a go-to (I can suggest other strains but this has helped me greatly.)

From Botanical Bunny, I have found Rojo Loco is excellent for my pain, along with Red Banjar (when in stock) and MD12.

Some overpriced but extremely effective kinds are Plantation and Red MD from Mmm Speciosa. They have a buy one, get one free thing going at least.

Happy Hippo is pricey but their reds are good with pain. Each week they put a single strain of their inventory up for sale, and any of the Reds have been generous to my pain, especially Red Hot Hippo, the Bali Hippo, the Red Horned, and the Fire Hippo.

I have a list much longer than this but I am taking mostly Botanical Bunny at this current time. I will update this list with things I found helpful.

Just an FYI, Ativan is technically a benzodiazepine and benzos ruined my life about as much as the chronic pain has. Over 10 years ago I was prescribed 1 mg Ativan per day for panic and anxiety. I tried to taper off and it was a nightmare. They switched me to Klonopin and tried to taper me off from there. That was impossible. Now I am stuck on 4 mg Klonopin per day and it no longer works, but if I don't take it I get horrific withdrawal symptoms that can last a year or longer if you try to truly quit.

Muscle relaxants like Tizanidine would be better than Ativan, but if it's something you take once or twice in the hospital, the benzo won't kill you. My boo swears on Tizanidine though, and she also loves kratom--a lot of it.

Oh no, you are stuck on Klonopin angelica? Have heard that's like the worst wd's of any drug.. Do you think kratom would even help, a long taper withdrawal program ?? I sure hope U find your way out.. Saw the Lisa Ling CNN special on benzos, LINK. truly scary stuff. A woman is doing a 1-year Taper, to get off that.. We hear a lot about kratom and opiate recovery.. but benzos and especially Klonopin are a different animal :o

Klonopin is the worst wd eh,? That makes sense due to the long half life. I get Valium or similar ones may be worse. Its stored in your fat cells like THC which makes elimination all the harder.

Coming from someone who has cold turkey withdrawn from several benzos, it is beyond hell. I've done etizolam and Xanax with are both shorter acting, but it still seems like they left forever with no relief, except for drinking a small amount of alcohol or a potent sleep aid. It's not something id wish on anyone, if prefer a week long heroin withdrawal anyway.

Kratom does "help" as it's a distraction, but in no way does it alleviate the symptoms like rebound anxiety. Benzos are one of the rare drugs that I think a medically supervision detox I'd worth the trouble. They can give you clonidine and gabapentin to ease off the nasty.

Good luck op, it's long, arduous journey and theyre unique in the symptoms, and the duration is like no other drug. Goof luck, don't be afraid to ask for help. Benzo withdrawal is one of the few you first

Others have been there, it can be done

I got a similar story. I was put on Xanax at at 27 for restless leg syndrome so I could stay asleep through the night (My dad has horrible RLS and I started getting it in early 20's). At the time, I was going through health issues, and doctors had no idea what was wrong with me, and some looked at me like I was drug seeking. I was sleeping 16 hours a day at at 26 out of no where and along with it, and RLS, I started having severe muscle weakness. I had to go through 2 years of every test known to doctors before finally I got a diagnoses: Mitochondria Myopathy (and later on I was also diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I'm off all medications (was on 6-7 at one time) now that I have kratom. Only medication I take is adderall. I use Kratom for pain relief. Kratom does help with fatigue, so I take less adderall then usual, but need it for constant energy at this point. Unless anyone has ideas of herbs/supplements for chronic fatigue

But I have not been able to get off of Xanax and either has my mother. I purposely told the doctor to stop prescribing my Xanax, and now me and my mother split her prescription. Doing it this way allowed us to cut our dosages and doses in half. But holy shit this is a nightmare to get off of. Both of us have tried and failed. I've had 3 withdrawal seizures from xanax. If I go 36 hours without I start getting full body muscle spasms. Last time I tried cold turkey was when there was a delay in prescription refill- I was in bed for 4 days and couldn't do anything, and after day 4 we got our refill and got better right away basically. It is my fault for not doing the research for before starting xanax but damn I wish my doctor had given me a warning about how difficult and severe it is. I was 27 I think and they started me at 1mg a day, and I was at such a low point at the time I just wanted to get better and wasn't smart about blinding taking medication without knowing exactly what I was getting into. Lesson learned!

Currently, me and my mother are both on a year long taper. Going down so so so a little bit at a time. We're 1/5 of the way through. Anyone have suggestion as to what may help us taper? But yeah, I wish I never started xanax. Please be careful if you are taking it, or don't be like me and do your homework on it.

My go to was Speciosa Life Red Bali 1. However, a friend recently introduced me to The Real Mitra-genie PRMD. It almost completely wiped out the pain in my legs in back. Excellent stuff.

DUDE, did you even read what you wrote here? Well, maybe not, cause I can't read it either??

I'll second the PRMD's from Genie, and now Goldfumed is selling smaller amounts on MeWe. Also a recent strain may have beaten out the PRMD...The Super Green Malay being sold by Rhino Remedies (again on MeWe)...This is some of the BEST leaf to come out this Summer IMO...Reminds me of old school classic Malay from years back. Only wish I had gotten more. Both of these are slayers of pain!

Klonopin is stronger than Ativan for one and harder to get off, the short half-life will be easier to get off in my experience the long half-life just prolongs WD.

I found it easier to switch to longer-acting benzo like Valium, and do something called water titration. Here's a link to video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whpciMUXHfY. Check out the Ashton Manual too-https://benzo.org.uk/manual/. If you don't can't or don't want to switch from Xanax to Valium you could also do it like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkY1pU0ZOXE

Wow! Good stuff here! I'm just getting back on after a long and painful week but one that I made it through thanks to kratom, a new heated throw blanket and finally seeing the doctor on Thursdaty. Unfortunately he wrote me Soma in an unusual doseage and being that it's scheduled, CVS couldn't transfer it. Called them Friday to find that my doc was off. I suspected after talking to the pharmacist that the 250 was an error. He said they had 350 and that it was the most common dose prescribed. Fortunately after some pushback from the woman I spoke to at the doctors office (I was ready to spend Friday night at the Doc in a Box at a cost of about $40. Anyhow, she decided to ask my doctor's partner what to do and she called me back minutes later and said the new prescription was phoned in. They also referred me to a new pain mgmt doctor for my back because I got shot down by the practice that does my image guided hip injections. I'm clear that I don't want an opiod contract. I walked away from one after my life got bad and I decided after getting drunk and not going to my appointment just to get back into kratom and quit. Other than a bottle of cough syrup that I got after spending a previous Friday night at a Doc in a Box for some viral crap that had me coughing and just not feeling great for about 3.5 weeks. I was talking to my doctor's nurse and she is a chronic pain warrior, too. We both wondered why you can't take opies AS NEEDED instead of having to do the contract with the pee tests that they expect to come up positive? I wouldn't have minded having a few Norcos this past week. I take the Ativan as needed which isn't every day. I'm well aware of how bad a benzo habit is to kick. Two things that can kill you if you cold turkey off of them: benzos and booze. The Soma made me crash hard so other than cutting them, which I do with many of my medications, including the Ativan, isn't a day time solution. Sitting at a desk all day actually aggravates the situation. I'm attempting to start up dancing again and my Smiley order came in just in time for my second dose. Seriously it was already measured and in the cup when I got the text that the package was in the mailbox! I have tried Swirl and Super Smile so far since I need the energy of a white to try to get off my butt and the couch and move a little. I mainl ordered the Super Royal Bent based on a suggestion further up this post. The other one I got as part of a split half is Red Smile. I like the White Smile and the Super Smile as well as the Swirl. I have a Soul pack coming on Monday  All right, off the couch, kick off the cat and practice dancing.

The reason why (I think) you have to get into a contract is that they dont want to give you pain meds. Since they HAVE to, they want you to lose them QUICKLY, and they want to be able to say "You had a contract, but you lost it!" thus making it YOUR fault. They know those tests are going to come up dirty a LOT of the time, and they can say "they tried" but all of these people are just "drug seekers" because they have to supplement with other (usually) illegal drugs. I mean, why does a PM doc give a shit if you smoke pot? There are NO interactions with opioids that are dangerous. Despite this, if they find THC in your system, they'll yank that contract right out from under you. They want their cake and want to eat it too. In other words, they are FUCKERS.

Boom! Nailed it! I'm one of those people that think weed should be made legal at the federal level. Of course, they would stll use it against you. :?

lately getting good results with these rotations:

Lisa's: relaxer elixir & red zombie
STH: vintage reserve red sundra
SOSA: red sundra & red sumatra

the results for me are decently consistent. i typically take ~3.5g at a dose. some difficult nites with discomfort i may take ~5g but i'm leery with that due to wobbles i've experienced in the past, rare, but i haven't forgotten about them!. this past year i noticed i get a good effects with ~3.5g so i've stuck with that amount. so yeah, those red's currently are goto right now.
