TFH Crushed Leaf...
Anyone try them yet?
Crushed Green Maeng Da
Crushed Jade Bali
Crushed TFH Blend
Crushed Red Sapphire Sunda
I've been getting back into tea again with my Areopress and I'm starting to run low on the CL I have left. I'm leaning towards the Jade Bali and the TFH Blend. Any feedback will be helpful.

I just ordered all of them and am super excited! Been using CL since 2017. It will be interesting to compare with my 2017 stash. I will report back when I receive them and try!

Usually powder but Crushed leaf seems to be much easier when it comes to the Aeropress. I have the 10k and 50k SS filters and occasionally have to just go back to the paper filters to filter it properly.acejestyr15 wrote:Do you only make tea from crushed leaf.... You should get the o2 combo stainless filters that I linked in my tea Tek thread!! They work flawlessly for me....guitartodd77 wrote:Usually powder but Crushed leaf seems to be much easier when it comes to the Aeropress. I'll back up that statement! That thread is what just made me a tea-convert and I have to contend, I feel this is the best way to experience the burn.acejestyr15 wrote:viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4847Luis2387 wrote:Lol hey man had to ask lol

The only difference for me to the process acejestyr15 describes so perfect and accurately is that I leave the kratom sit in lemon juice for a good minute first. Why do I do this....? Well to be honest I am terribly lazy with the rest of the process, don't note the water temp and don't take time to measure the citric acid most often and despite all that, I ALWAYS get a consistent result/strength.
So the takeaway there is the citric acid or lemon juice seems to me to be the KEY to getting all the properties out the plant matter and into the tea if I had to guess. Not that the other factors are not important as well, but clearly far less critical. My fuck-up-proof lemon juice lends a not-so-tasty result mind you, I do often end up with quite the bitter brew- but I am not at all in it for the taste
I even tried letting it sit in alcohol overnight and then brewing and even that didn't fetch a better result than ace's method so that seals the deal in my mind- his recipe must maximize the potential potency of what one could achieve.

Re: TFH Crushed Leaf...
Reviving this thread now that I've been able to try all of the TFH Crushed Leaf options that were available at the time.
This took a while due to having to adjust my tea process a few different ways to get the results close to what I was expecting. I had stopped consuming kratom powder completely for a couple of months due to health challenges but I was able to switch over to crushed leaf tea a few days a week after I was able to gain some control over parts of my treatment process.
Of course, Chris and Angie with TFH have been absolutely amazing. So incredibly amazing that i consider them to be more than just a world class business and resource for some of the finest Kratom on the market, I consider them to be friends now. An amazing family with integrity, strong values and compassion which is also apparent in how they conduct their business. They truly care.
On to the CL (crushed leaf).... I've been playing around with CL for a while (couple of years) with more misses than hits due to what I believed at the time was just my experimentation with different, flawed processes. However, what I've learned now is that the quality of the CL is absolutely a primary factor. I tried CL from several vendors including Krabot, Herbal RVA and MitraMan with varying results but never could get a consistent quality tea. Sure, I managed to have a couple of breakthrough tea brews that would absolutely reassure my belief that CL can be just as good or even better than powder if prepared correctly but I just couldn't seem to replicate the results consistently.
With TFH crushed leaf, I have finally been able to enjoy high quality tea on a consistent basis. My conclusion... I had poor to moderate quality CL in the past. TFH CL is absolutely top shelf.
Disclaimer on my reviews of the TFH Crushed Leaf: Please keep in mind that I am battling serious health challenges. Consequently, it does require that I occasionally use prescription pain medications (which i totally hate but they do work when absolutely needed). However, I never combine prescription pain meds with kratom and usually give myself at least a 36 hour buffer after breaking away from the pain meds before moving to kratom tea (or powder again now). All that to say, this does effect the receptors in my brain so your milage most certainly may vary. i will say this as i go through this disease treatment process....i much prefer kratom over prescription pain meds to control moderate pain. I only switch over to the pain meds when pain levels rise sharply to the 9 to 10 level.

All four are amazing crushed leaf batches. You really can't go wrong with any of then. My favorite, if I had to pick one, would be the TFH Blend.

Re: TFH Crushed Leaf...
thanks for the update! now I'm wanting a new TFH order! it's hard to try new vendors (rhino, mitraman, heaven leaf... the list is long lol), which I keep saying I'm going to do, when I keep going back to favorites
want more lucky and denette too! the struggle is real
but. there is zero doubt in my mind, TFH will eternally remain my #1. for SO many reasons <3

Re: TFH Crushed Leaf...
I was able to get the tfh blend, sapphire sunda, and classic green md.
Classic green md is great for morning, sapphire sunda the afternoon, and haven't yet tried the blend.
I tell ya, crushed leaf is so much better than powder for tea. Ace's tutorial is good, I usually use Wot's tea to make batches.

Re: TFH Crushed Leaf...
I've been following Ace's Aeropress tea method for the most part.starshine wrote: after experimenting, what did you decide is your favorite way to prepare it?
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4847&hilit=Aeropress+tea&start=80
I bring 34 oz of water to a boil (usually boils down to about 32 oz for 4x servings). While my water is heating up, I weigh out 4x servings worth of CL, dump it all into my large, green, old school, vacuum sealed 64 oz Stanley Growler along with about 300-500mg of powdered citric acid. When the water is ready, i pour it into the Growler with the CL/citric acid, seal it up, swirl it around (i do not shake it) for a few seconds and let it sit for at least an hour up to a few hours. I'll occasionally swirl it around in the Growler from time to time while its steeping. Doubt that helps anything but I feel compelled to do it anyway.
After all of that, I go through the Areopress process one cup at a time, swirling the mixture together between each press, I pour equal amounts of each press into four small Mason jars to keep it consistent as more leaf pours out in the later press, I then seal them up and drink or mix in a drink as needed. I typically flavor mine with honey or real maple syrup along with a little ginger from time to time.
Cheers!
