Block your ISP from recording websites you visit

Post by gravystainonmyshirt »

So if you don’t know what a DNS provider is, It is the system that resolves/converts the website words (http://www.doublemherbals.com) into the IP address that connects to the website.

Websites are actually numbers but since numbers are harder to remember than words, they created a system that keeps a database of IP addresses that are attached to website words so people can remember them easier. So when you type in http://www.doublemherbals.com For example, your device sends a request to your DNS provider asking it what the ip address is, then your DNS provider searches for that website and when it finds it it sends you to the IP address that is attached to that website word.

By default, your device is set to send your requests to your ISP’s ( Internet service provider ) dns system. The bad thing about that is that your ISP such as Comcast keeps track of all of the websites you asked it to resolve, so there is a record of all of the websites you have visited which can be problematic if you think about it.

So some people use googles DNS server which is 8.8.8.8 but I don’t like using that word because school keeps track of everything and they are even worse about sharing your information. So I found an even better company called cloudflare That does not keep records and is actually three times faster than your Internet service provider at resolving websites. So your Internet speeds increase dramatically surprisingly.

You can manually go onto your device and change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, Or you can just install this app which changes it for you automatically plus route you through a VPN for free without tracking you like other free VPN services. My webpages are loading so much faster it’s unbelievable.

So here is the link to the cloud flair app in the Google play store, And by using my link we both get one gigabyte of their premium service which has extra features for speeding up your Internet connection.

This is my referral link

I use https://dns.watch/ as my dns it's actually a lot faster than my ISP's dns lol and it's in Europe  Some people just use DNScrypt which is also a good alternative that provides good response times. I gotta say I'm not a fan of cloudflare/amazon or google they certainly don't respect your privacy or data but it is better than using your ISP's DNS. I pretty much do everything on a vpn anyways. Mullvad is probably the best vpn service with privacy in mind they require 0 personal information no email no account nothing you just receive an account number.

Dnscrypt is pretty good for setting up a proxy. I’m just really impressed with the new app that Cloudflare came out with. I’ve been manually running Cloudflare DNS through my adapter settings but after experiencing how fast the work app is I just had to share it with the group. I’ll check out the speed of dns watch Compared to cloud slingers speed

Hmm. Your most recent post encouraged us to fabricate (Make up, Lie about) Amazon reviews in order to score free products. And Cloudflare is sponsored by -who knew - Amazon.

Your referral link is nothing more than another shill to earn you $$. Cloudflare is no better than a dozen other products out there.

I still wonder how your money-grabs make it onto this forum. If anything you should have to advertise on the Vendor forum - except you aren't selling kratom. It will be interesting to see what you hawk next. Imo, if it isn't kratom-related, it shouldn't be here. Otherwise: https://web.extension.illinois.edu/stai ... .cfm?ID=88 [Note: This is a safe site].

Excellent. This is the only consolation I have felt for months ;) . In the coming days will 'gravy stains' turn into blood stains? I hope not :(

For non tech savvy, instead of typing 251.12.135.45 to get here you type doublemherbals.com. Much easier to remember. Please don't type those numbers in your URL bar, I just chose then at random.

I typed them in just out of curiosity to see where it goes, and it goes nowhere.

Also, you can't access this site via IP since we use Cloudflare.
