Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
This is the first time I tried Mystic Island vendor
To be honest I already took my morning dose of 1g Socal Green Sulewasi 2 hours prior but when I received the shipment from mystic Island I just had to try it, so here's a review.
Mystic Pixie sure is a fast acting strain, started feeling the effects instantly after taking it (about a gram) the effects are strong and vivid. It's a nice and relaxing calming effects that starts from your mind & then you feel it all around, I wasn't sure about this strain at first because on Mystic Island site mystic pixie description said the mix is red and green but I've read somewhere on the forums that it was red and white (I usually stay away from white strains) but regardless, I like this strain.
One interesting thing about Mystic Island I'd like to point out is that they use paper bags for their Kratom, all the other vendors I've tried use plastic or aluminum material bags, so I don't know if it's good or not to use these bags for long time storage. The size of Mystic Island begs is just right (about the same size gaia uses) which is great and not too big ("Canopy" uses huge 250g bags).

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
Thanks for the review! I just want to chime in about Mystic's bags. They are paper but lined with plastic. I have a 500g bag of Vampire (opened) that I have had since last December and haven't had a problem with storage. I do keep all my leaf in the original bag, with that in a ziplock freezer bag and then place those in tupperware. Personally, I've had more problems with the mylar bags and the "zip-lock" failing and ripping from the sides than with Mytic's paper bags. Just my two pennies. Thanks again!

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
Simon, I just went to look at Pixie to find out more about the blend, but they're sold out so the blend description's not on the website at the moment. I'll have to look again when they restock, because you make it sound like something I'd like: I regularly blend my reds with a fast green or a touch of white.
Also, can confirm on the bags -- it's very humid here in SC, but I haven't had a problem with the Mystic Island bags. The AC takes care of most of it but you can tell when stuff starts getting damp, like flour, and I've never had an issue with Mystic's bags staying moisture- and air-tight. I'm not nearly as organized or diligent as phatcracker, but if they were unlined paper I'd have them in plastic too.
Thanks for the review and the info!

Hi phatcracker!
I'm glad to hear that, I was wondering. Actually, I was kind of concerned about kratom in paper bags and how it might fare with Mystic being so close to the ocean and the hurricane coming through. I've got quite a bit of Mystic kratom in the last week or so, I've put a desiccant pack in every opened bag and put all the bags in one bin with a bunch more desiccant packets. I feel better knowing they're plastic lined.

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
I just checked and you are right! mystic island bags are lined with plastic on the inside!
I'd keep them in the freezer too if there was space, but there isn't any so what I do is squeeze as much air as possible from the bag and then zip it.
P.S. I just tried Mystic's "DOPPELGÄNGER" and mixed with water it tastes almost like apple juice =D

I had got to the point of writing down the vein colors on the back of the bags so I wouldn't have to go to their website when I forgot them. I've got Green/Red written on my bag of Pixie and it's one of my favorites too. Good euphoria, mood, and pain relief. Not too heavy either.

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
I've been meaning to do that for ages and finally got around to finishing it yesterday. (Your post was the kick in the ass I needed to git er done, thanks!) Mystic was the worst with the blend names and I've been writing the descriptions on the bag, but it's hard to see them when I'm making a choice, plus I really needed to do it for all of them.jabro70 wrote:I had got to the point of writing down the vein colors on the back of the bags so I wouldn't have to go to their website when I forgot them.
In my case I needed to be able to see them clearly in low light, so I printed some instead of writing them out, but now I can actually SEE what I have. Going through my stash now, the difference is like night and day. Here's a picture of some:

I used regular address labels and wrapped them around the side at the same place on each bag, followed by some clear tape. Hippie will be proud of me.

I am SO proud of you!! My stash might be inventoried, but it's messy and disorganized otherwise. Just tossed in a bin.

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
They're usually not that neat -- as I was applying labels it was easier to grab all of one vendor's at a time since the bag sizes were the same, so that's how they got put back. So don't give me -too- much credit.
Glad you like it! I am SO loving not having to dig around when all I want is a green or a red I haven't had in a while.

Nice looking stash Whiffy. That’s a good idea “tabbing” the edge of the bags. I’ve got the strain colors written in pen on the back of my bags but i still have to pull out the bags from their boxes to find the one I am looking for. I may have to start tabbing my bags that I keep in larger containers.
I love the little sample bags from Mystic. I like reusing them once emptied to keep smaller amounts of several strains in my “travel bag”. A dozen of those bags takes up a little more space than a sleeve of crackers.

Thanks man. That tin box you see in the front left is my sample box -- when I saw how well it all worked with the big bags, I tabbed those too, and they're even easier to root through now too!
I -really- like the various sizes of Mystic bags -- great idea for reusing them. I don't throw out the empties either. But I was using them so much that in the end I just bought some similar stand-up ziploc plastic bags on Amazon -- I can find the link if you want -- and they were cheap and work great. Those are the translucent ones to the left, behind the sample tin in the pic.

Yes, please post the link for the bags. Ive been trying to find some small foil bags (or bags similar to Mystic’s) around the size of Mystic’s 75s but so far I’ve come up empty. I like having a bag that protects the leaf and is discreet about what’s in it as well. And I definitely don’t like carrying around 1/4 kg size bags.

Re: Mysic Island Mystic Pixie Review
The bags I got were these, 50 for just under $10:
SumDirect 50Pcs 5x8 inches Matte Zipper Resealable Stand Up Drink Bags, Snack Food Tea Packing Drinking Pouches - 5x8 inches
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M12RALG/
The size is perfect for me, because they will accept both smaller and larger amounts. I would not go any smaller myself because a lot of that room disappears when you actually put product in the bag; that measurement includes unusable space. And of course you can put less or more in the bag just as you please. They also come in a smaller size that's closer to Mystic's 75g bag.
But Mystic's 75g size -- I just measured one of mine that's still unopened, and it's almost exactly 4"x 6". If I wanted some of those, I would get something like these:
AwePackage 2 oz Stand up Zipper Pouch Bag - FDA and USDA compliant Heavy Barrier 4X6X2 Inch (50, Natural Kraft)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I22Q7B8
Same thing, but a little bigger and easier to use (4.3 x 6.7 instead of 4 x 6) -- AwePackage Heavy Duty Kraft Paper Self Standing Resealable Zipper Pouch Bags (1 oz- 16 oz) - FDA and USDA compliant (50, 3 Oz)
https://www.amazon.com/AwePackage-Heavy ... 01INUWHBS/
SumDirect Kraft Zip Lock Stand Up Food Bags Resealable Pouches with Notch and Matte Window ,4x6 Inches,1.15oz,Pack of 50
https://www.amazon.com/SumDirect-Reseal ... B01NAPR920
The key search term is "stand up bag" when you look on Amazon, and then just read the reviews. I'm sure you'll find something, there's a LOT out there once you know what to search for. Good luck!

Yup, same exact thing -- you linked the 100 pack, I linked the 50 pack.
They do look like great bags! Jabro70 - watch out for the dimensions because the usable area is a good bit smaller than the actual bag size; that's why I went up a full size myself. But should be great for 50g samples!

Thanks Whiffy and Ballz. Ive been looking for suitable portable containers. If those bags hold around 50g, then they will be perfect.
