Anyone else having problems with USPS?

Post by Pdorse9 »

My package has been stuck in Tulsa for 2 weeks now, which confusing because my orders from a couple other vendors showed up in a week. Am I the only one experiencing this?

You're not the only one. At the top of the USPS website it says they are experiencing unprecedented delays, it being the holidays which is already the busiest time of year, and also the pandemic which is a unique situation. In some places postal staff has been cut in half. Combine all three things and a shitty postmaster general, and that's where we are right now. I think it will get back to normal soon enough.

I had a package sent from a vendor not even an hours distance from me take 2 weeks via priority mail. This was 5/6 weeks back. Then I ordered from herbal rva a month or so ago and it arrived in 4 days via priority mail so it’s all over the place

I'm having terrible problems with the USPS right now. My MitraMan order was shipped on December 10th and I still haven't gotten it. On December 8th, my daughter sent me a package from Philadelphia, which is only 3 hours away and I haven't gotten that either. I do get periodic reassurances that the packages are still on their way so I guess they haven't disappeared entirely. I don't have a car or else I'd drive to the post-offices where they were last reported and pick them up; as of today, neither package is more than 40 minutes away. Hmmm. Maybe I really should go after the MitraMan order. It's contains some of his new White Sibau and I'm getting very impatient. :(

Not going to lie, it’s pretty awesome. Definitely thinking about ordering more.

I would be shocked if anyone WASN'T having problems getting their deliveries - of ALL the things. One of our resident Double M-ers posted a photo of a USPS sorting room and, oh man, what. a. mess.

All the same, the child in me wanted to dive into that mess and start ripping packages open because a lot of it was meant for Christmas and you know there's going to be some awesome stuff in there.

I do some ebay-ing and I shipped a package to a buyer on December the 8th. It didn't get there until the 21st!! :o . That's gonna make any small/smallish vendors look bad. I don't know how Amazon pushes so much of it's purchases through in three days. Mostly I don't want to know the kind of skullduggery Jeff Bezos gets up to.

It's rough right now, and I have suffered some losses through the post, but I still think they are one of the best things we have here in America. I always laugh when I remember the predictions from the 80s: that some day the post would be unnecessary and irrelevant.

I assume you guys are talking about priority mail packages? Any of you having long waits for express mail shipping? I’m going to go with express mail for my next order just to be on the safer side

In regards to other shipping companies, amazon has been pretty much right on time . No crazy long waits like with USPS. I wonder if fedex or ups is slow?

That is awful. We’re you running low on Kratom and really expecting it to be in weeks ago? I had a situation like that 3-4 weeks ago and I had to resort to buying local headship Kratom .. ugh

The real trouble with the postal situation is the insecurity of a package being totally lost after 3 weeks or so..... and since everything is haphazard and not being scanned, there is NO WAY for them to locate it for you to confirm they have it. Thus you sit in this weird limbo of going "well on one hand all my packages have come before... but on the other, COULD I be one of the unlucky few who should be getting proactive because my package depends on it??"

Fact is, there is no way to tell until you are hitting the 4-5 week mark and even still it could have been 20 minutes down the road the whole time right under you're nose and neither you nor the post office knew a thing about it. I don't think it was ever intended to become this haphazard, to the point of tracking having been abandoned in favor of a "arriving late but dont worry" messages, but it is 2020 after all.. just would not make sense if we got our christmas presents before 2021

Around this time each year is when I use “priority express” and I have had no problems. I am just lucky, but I’ve placed 2 MitraMan orders in december, I live in Ohio so it goes across the whole country from Texas, and have gotten both packages the day after they shipped. It kinda blew my mind when it first happened, they must fly the packages because I remember mapquesting it, and it got here much sooner than that. I just received another package on Tuesday.

My last mitraman order was great (sg, red elephant, green Malay, white jk) but this one I just received (g jk, red horn, gold md, white sibau, green jk) hasn’t started hitting quite yet, but I fear I’ve been overloading my receptors, and I typically take a few doses before it starts working from a new batch. I was successfully doing twice a week dosing days for like 5 months, and then the holidays hit and that is a very emotional time for me, I fell back into daily use for December. MitraMan has been my fav vendor up with TFH, but I’m hoping the quality didn’t go down. It is probably all of the things I listed and will go start hitting again. I’m usually an 8g a day person and lately I’ve been doing 18 and now nothing is hitting, no suprise. Oh the joys of tapering, getting off, and restarting a honeymoon period until it stops working again and back to tapering, the kratom shuffle!!

I did priority express right before Christmas and it took 3 days. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind ($16 more than regular priority)

I'm going to give regular priority a try this weekend, we'll see what happens. I didn't have issues right before Christmas, one would think it would be better now.

It is awful. I sent someone a package through the trading post, should have been 2 Day Priority shipping and by 2 day, I guess they meant 'a week'.

I ordered an Xmas present for my boo and it spent two weeks stuck in White Plains, NY before showing up today.

I've also found the tracking to be a little off. It goes from a package just resting or sunbathing in some distribution office for two weeks, to suddenly being here after I've loudly proclaimed that USPS 'had to have' lost my package, or that it must have 'fallen off the truck'.

Locally, a bunch of USPS workers retired...I mean, way more than half...due to Covid. Rather than put themselves at risk and keep working, they retired in droves. The post office here is now desperate for workers, and a few days I had packages scheduled for pickup and I looked at my mailbox and my neighbors mailboxes, and I realized that they may be SKIPPING our route once or twice a week.

It is no fault of our vendors, or folks in the trading post, or your friendly Etsy seller...it's just a shit shack.

It took over ten days to get my order from Lucky, when the norm would be 2.

Now that the holidays are over, you would think somethings got to give.....

Although the new stimulus checks are going to boost e-commerce sale substantially IMHO.

My MitraMan order which was shipped on Dec 10, just arrived today, Jan 3. The odd thing is that the USPS delivered it a) on Sunday and b) brought it to my 4th story apartment instead of putting it in a parcel locker on the 1st floor. The last time it had been scanned was on Dec 28th so I didn't expect it today at all. So...lovely surprise, Happy New Year and there's hope yet for all of you still eagerly waiting for your orders!

Maybe the package my daughter mailed me on Dec 8 from 3 hours away will get here, yet!

Is anyone not having trouble with the mail? I want to believe that it's not everyone, maybe the people that it's working for have no reason to go online and post in a thread like this. I'm about to find out for myself, I have something going out later today (Monday) regular priority. It'd be nice to get it before the weekend, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much...

Currently waiting on:

Krat from Mitragaia - arriving late status December 21st, shipped December 17th
A check
My newborn's birth certificate

The stimulus check wont be mailed until the 6th but i am starting to lose faith that that will come on time.

The last kraton I ordered was through first coast and it came a week late but I think it only came because of signature confirmation.

Edit: looks like i just got my stimulus check and the check sender(not stimulus) asked me to verify address so thats not actually lost. Just my kratom(which was lost before back in october or september) and my baby's birth certificate are mia.

My experience this week has been nothing like that of those in this thread. I had a pack go out Monday from New England, priority, with a estimated delivery date of Friday. It is now Wednesday morning and it is already out for delivery. I live in the Midwest. By the time it arrives, it will have been less than 48 hours, shipping label created to delivered. I had a couple before Christmas in early December, one was on time and another was one day late. I don't get it, some are saying USPS is worthless, but I continue to have good luck with them. Not trying to brag, just wanted to update. I definitely won't ever buy anything right before Christmas though, that's for sure.

I was surprised to see the $600 in my checking account on the 31st, which is bizarre because my bank statement says it arrived two days ago.. I mean, it's almost like the gov. has a ton of money and can spend it however and whenever they please.

Before January 4th, it was like a pending or provisional deposit, if I'm not mistaken it didn't become usable until Monday the 4th. They started depositing them as early as the 28th actually.
Now that democrats have congress, there will likely be another payment. That's one of the first things Biden has said he will do.

How's everyone doing on the USPS front? I haven't seen as many complaints lately, so I take that as a sign things are improving. I just ordered several things on Tuesday and received them today, Friday morning, which is two days ahead of schedule for all three. Two were priority and one was first class, fastest I've ever gotten a first class pack.

Today I finally got a package from my daughter who mailed it priority mail from Philadelphia...on December 8th. So, only 7 weeks to make the 2.5 hr trip to Baltimore.

Did you ever get your check?? I'm still waiting on mine and it says it was mailed on Jan 6!

And I also have a KOG order that was shipped last Thursday (8 days ago) and all my tracking says is "in transit - arriving late" even though it arrived in my city I think on Sunday. The mail was starting to get better in my area and times were improving, but looks like still lots of delays.

Yes I did receive my stimulus check, on January 19. Im not sure what took so long, and what's taking yours even longer. Mine said January 6 w I checked the date of the first one back in May; it was mailed out on the 1st and arrived on the 5th.

I’m waiting on a package from lone star, today is the delivery date, but it hasn’t been scanned since arriving in Texas usps center (I’m in Ohio) 3 days ago, which leads me to believe that usps center is screwing up. I’m kicking myself a million times for not getting priority express. Just that automatic in transit, arriving on time tag, and today it just changed to in transit, arriving late. No new scans, it appears to never have departed Texas. This is my first issue after months of luck

Glad its not just me.

I ordered a package from Amazon last week. The seller is in California, I'm in Utah. Yet for some reason, USPS decided the best route would be to first go to Jacksonville, Florida and then all the way back across the US to get to me...

Living in Hawaii is great, but we get a raw deal from some companies unwilling to give us the same prices for shipping/handling and don't give us free shipping.

Direct cost from USPS for letters and packages is the same, however, and USPS usually comes through, taking a day or two longer recently, but I ordered some vitamins from Amazon weeks ago which shipped from Washington state, and is now inexplicably in Boston, Massachusetts. Guess they needed an East coast vacation before heading here, our Westernmost state.

Still no more than one (at the most 2) day delay, ever, all through covid up through this week. I won some kratom in the 3 year anniv. thread 2 weeks back and got it in 4 days, from 2/3 the way across the country. Bought some from a vendor here a state over this week, and had it in literally 49-50 hours. Hopefully they boot that Dejoy guy soon and it's back to normal for everyone by summer/fall. USPS is the best overall, as fast as any of them, and way cheaper. :)

Had trouble once or twice over the years, but they were anomalous. It's very rare that I don't get a priority within the estimated delivery date, and it's usually 1-2 days ahead..so getting a priority in 2 days happens pretty often. I'm sure it has to do with where you live in relation to your destination facility. There have been isolated incidents where it's been a little longer, but they've never actually lost anything, never taken longer than about 10 days, and the problems I did have were the shipper's fault not usps. I'm not a DeJoy fan, but I can't hate on their efficiency at the moment.

Heard from my post lady via my mum that the job is super stressful now, shifts are from 7a-10p. She said she was trying to discourage her niece from taking a similar position.
