What's Ben (SOSA) been up to?

Forgive me for being nosy, but I was just wondering what the guy from sosa is doing nowadays. Last I heard he was in some legal trouble, got a DUI, etc, but that was months ago. What was the outcome of all that? Has anyone, by chance, got a response out of him thru email? Any possibility he will try to make amends and relaunch the business? (Seems very unlikely, but I can see there being at least a little interest with that, considering how popular his old leaf still is)

This is a chief keef song called "Love SOSA" and he's pretty intent on telling you over and over that "you gon' get f@$!ed over." I came across this by accident, and knowing what we know now...was chief keef trying to WARN US? It's from 2012, so...

Yeah after multiple cocaine charges if sosa does ever try to make a comeback it will more than likely be after a few years. He had multiple serious charges(2 while he was out on bond) one charge was also for trying to flee so he is surely going to have to do some time for that unless for some reason his lawyer is able to miraculously get him off clean, but is highly unlikely. Rumor is that the string of suppliers he was using has somce broken up as well so probably each one has linked up with a different vendor somewhere or is whole selling to a middle man.

Miv, I hate mumble rap in general, but I happen to like that song, the beat and production is good for how cheaply it was made. Plus that song is now 9 years old, it wouldn't be acceptable if it came out today. They shot the whole video in his grandmother's house because he was on house arrest at the time...chief keef for the most part sucks now but he drops a banger every now and then. Though the last one I heard was like 2017, no idea what he's like, or the status of new music in general. Seems like it hasn't progressed much, now we've got the rainbow haired rappers/mumblers.

And no need to apologize, I was just speculating, I have no hope of sosa returning, nor do I think his leaf is/was as great as some are claiming. I'm just interested in this from a legal perspective. Not that it's any of my business, but he's still a person of interest in the kratom community.

Nice to hear some new things about Ben, I'd like to hear what the formal charges are and how the court process is going, whether he's trying to fight the case or plea out. I'm guessing if he already absconded while out on bond (wonder how long it took to catch him) they probably have him locked up. I also wonder how much money he made off that exit scam, he should have saved some for his legal fees, but we all know that's unlikely. If I knew more information about him, i.e. his last name and the state/county he's been charged in, I'd look this up myself, all of it is a matter of public record

Someone, I forget who, sent me some mug shots but I THINK ive deleted them. Maybe they will chime in. Its sad, as it usually is, because he LOOKS like we lost a person that was really cool before the drugs took control.

I wasn’t using Kratom at the time Sosa was hot shit (supposedly) but I have sampled his leaf from 2018 and it is really good. My only thought is what does Ben think now, possibly behind bars, of the legacy he left behind?? I wonder if he knows there are still threads about him. Did he realize the empire he had or could’ve been?? I too would love to hear from him. Could you imagine if he logged on and posted a letter to his fans/followers??? Damn, I’d read that!! Oh well, that’s addiction for ya. Cliche though considering most of us are using leaf to stay sober among a million other reasons. Maybe he should’ve taken some of his own leaf. He had 2 months were he was arrested 5 times. Heroin, crack, fleeing and evading arrest. He kept bonding out with peoples kratom money and getting caught again. His last one he got pulled for driving left of center and took off. Just Google his name mugshots Wilmington nc. Crazy how much his face changed each mugshot.

Jeeesus. Brutal man. To this day Sosa is hands down my favorite leaf. Got myself a solid collection of it I'll be milking for the next few years.
Also I know people lost money on him in the last couple months or so before he went down for good. Not so sure about any "exit scam" cause like Jared said I think it was more getting popped out on bond and using whatever money he had to bail himself out. Cause the strange thing is I got a few kilos like a week before he went down for good. And I talked to him off and on several times.
As far as him wondering about his legacy?? Lol I heard him say several times he didn't give a shit what anyone thought about him or his leaf on the internet. Said 95% of his customers and business didn't even know what Double M was.
But it does suck bad we won't ever get those classic Sosa reds again. They just don't make um like they used too

Yeah I can totally see that. If I was in his position I wouldn't either. He's probably far more consumed with his own personal problems right now. I haven't seen the charges, but going off what people have said here, he could get some years.

But if he was just using ill-gained money on himself out of desperation (which I can sympathize with) why would he abscond, knowing he'd eventually get caught again and have to use more of other people's money? There seems to be a high degree of selfishness involved. And I don't buy that the "coke made him do it" for whoever excuses his behavior because of drugs. He made a conscious choice, not an inanimate powder.

Sosa had a few good reds, but I really don't think they were as good as people make them out to be now. I liked his red Sunda and thought it was really good, but not above what other vendors currently have. His other reds were ok. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Is he currently in jail? Has anyone confirmed this via public records/jail lockup website? As opposed to being a spread rumor. If he is, I assume he's still awaiting trial, because if he had already been sentenced and got jail time, that'd be under a year of time. For what he's charged with, seems like he would get state prison time (anything over 364 days/11 months 29 days) but a lot can happen pretrial, with the lawyers negotiating on different pleas/deals. If he doesn't have a criminal history and agrees to go to treatment, drug court, and be on probation/at home monitoring for a few years, he could feasibly get off with a semi-short sentence. And depending on how long he's already been in, he could get time served and go home. Sometimes one can be in jail for many months before being formally charged, even if he ends up being cleared of all charges (that means innocent people can spend a lot of time in jail before even getting a trial, but I digress). If he pleas out (which is probably what he should do), he'll likely get a shorter sentence than if he takes it to trial and gets convicted.

When he wouldnt send tracking for my last order after a week or so of ghosting me. I politely reminded him that withdrawls suck and just tell me if its coming or not so i can order from someone else. That night i guess he shipped it. He never wrote back but it did show up to my broker 2.5 weeks later unannounced. He must have had a little remorse maybe...but the whole situation was super stressful.
