What is a defining feature of Jong Kong kratom?

Compared to the more popular types of kratom (e.g. maeng da, bali, borneo) is there anything specifically unique to jong kong kratom?

I rarely order it, but it is mainly due to name recognition. Another thing is on this forum I hardly ever see anyone recommend the Jong Kong kratom from the popular vendors.

Has anyone had any positive experiences with jong kong kratom and what do you enjoy about it?

Jongkong kratom is, technically, from the Jongkong district of Indonesia. But, like a lot of kratom sold, the name given to the kratom is made up, kinda like Red Bali kratom is never from Bali. There's some wholesalers who actually sell their bulk kratom by which district it was harvested from, but whether the American vendors keep that nomenclature or not is questionable. I know only one vendor who actually names their product by which district it comes from, so in general what I'm saying is you can't rely on the names of kratom to mean much.

For me personally my Jong Kongs are pure strains. Meaning there not blends like most leaf is nowadays.

I don't know if there is a defining feature of any strain name of kratom. I have had some good white JongKong though, it seemed like a white and was fairly strong. I don't seem to see it (JongKong) listed for sale quite as often, but in the past year I've seen more new strain names than the 3 years before combined. If strains never meant much, as some folks would have me believe, then they mean nothing in 2021 ha-ha.

This is what I heard about them also. Sometimes people might name it anything to sell might vary vendor to vendor.

I find Green Jongkong from many different vendors pretty consistent. Also Green Malay but not as much as Jongkong.

Some of the best I've had have been labelled as having come from the JK province which is not a quaint neighbourhood. It might even be like saying something is from the South Western US region (ok, shink that down a bit). Whether the region had direct impact on how I value my stuff- you decide.

I wasn't aware it was less popular. Newbie vendors (or those with < a dozen varieties don't seem to carry that and it's probably bc they start with Borneo- more familiar name and with more variety you don't want to have "the other Green Borneo" but there are a few with the #1 #2 thing going on.

I think Borneo might even be part of JK- or it's the other way around so .... yea. Huge area.

Personal Jong Kong Sentiments
I've never been disappointed by anything JK. In my collection. Around 80% of them (of 8 or 9 items JK) are on the slow end of their category (the color thing). The two that are not slow, are not fast either so that may tip probabilities for you. I'd say you'll likely get something slow, maybe mid with a good mood. (< there it is!)

Another private collection statistic... those that are not fermented in any way (two are) I'd say are more "complex" than most with one of the greens being a slow heavy one that is not complex. Am I helping?
The firmas are good too imo but kind of "bufferred", not complex. They smooth things out without getting heavy or too sleepy. Good mood. The red one - like falling slomo into a big vat of down feathers. (can we get back to writing reviews this way please?)

All considered - in my corner, I rate my JK's within the top 25% of my 5 year expanding collection. Run with that.

Disclaimer for the naming police:
I find similarities among some under the same name and I know which among vendors I use have provided accd. to the impression I have so if I have a specific target in mind, I'll use one of those sources and I get something in the range of what I'm after. So far that has held true but it is vendor specific. Of those sources- larger volume vendors AND those that have been around longer. This observation has thus far served me well so that meaningfulness, which I consider a probability, and is good enough.. has remained in my world. Someone has something to say about it, go ahead and waste your time.
