Back to the original Post ... "Lab Testing" is not really needed. :). Pour boiled water over your powder, 180º for 5 minutes kills all pathogens.

That being said, I agree Lab Testing is a SCAM, as currently done by many vendors... It's mainly Marketing BS for the Facebook folks who made a big deal about Lab Testing 3 years ago. After several "Big Kratom" vendors got caught selling Salmonella. Since then - with Container shipping only makes it worse. Testing 50 grams out of a 20 Ton load ? Means what ?? Absolutely nothing.

Now... Mixing with Additives ?? Thank you for that. I got roasted pretty good here, recently... for even a tiny hint at "fent". I see their point, that word should not be associated with Kratom -- But O-DSMT well, it's been done, before. True. Then there's Extract, and the Indo's can and do make Extract. My opinion is... Whenever there's a vendor with strangely strong Kratom - yep. And dude turns out to be a crackhead tweaker ? In Jail busted for dope? Hmm. How's SoSa doing anyone seen him lately ? lol
Not all lab testing is a scam and is a very good idea in my opinion. Heavy metals and Molds testing is ABSOLUTELY a good idea to test for if you care about the health of your customers, especially for heavier users of kratom. Plenty of vendors actually do legit lab/heavy metals testing. Kratom can have alarming amounts of heavy metals and could often contain dangerous contaminants, testing to make sure the batch is safe for consumption should be stressed more to vendors. You're right that testing a tiny sample size from a enormous batch and isn't a complete picture by any means but it's better than nothing.

While Ben from sosa definitely wasn't on the up and up I do not think he adulterated his kratom with other drugs. He definitely had issues but not all of his kratom was outstanding some of it was average for me. If he were selling opioid laced kratom there would have been deaths directly linked to his business. More than likely he just had a bad drug problem and was selling kratom to fund his drug habits, this makes the most logical sense to me. Why would a drug addict waste expensive drugs on something as cheap as kratom? ODSMT and other novel opioids are not cheap to be lacing kratom with. The Kyrpton Kratom incident was over a decade ago and was just 99% odsmt with 1% kratom in order to sell that shit in gas stations in Europe, not exactly adulterated kratom. Most "adulterated kratom" you read about is just kratom sprayed with isolated mitragynine or other naturally occurring kratom alkaloids. Anything else just isn't economically viable.

Now I need someone to come forward with concrete proof of this going on so I can blacklist them from the double m. We take blacklisting very seriously, but we do not operate on rumors or hearsay. This is a serious claim and if it's true, I don't want them here anymore than you guys do.

Blacklisting means the vendor is banned, their posts are nuked, all reviews of them are taken down, and finally a public post is made warning consumers not to purchase from them. Then they are forbidden from ever doing business here again. So as you can see, it's a serious process.
I am also sending you an email.

EDIT: I made a big ol' post wondering why I can't find any concrete info on the whole "kratom cut with fent" thing, only to realize it had been addressed in other posts in this very thread. No wonder I couldn't find any sources if it was just an urban legend. Though in my searches I've seen the CDC claiming that kratom "overdoses" are killing people, when there was heroin and fentanyl also found in the person's body when they died. Fearmongering silliness.

Now to keep an eye on this blacklisting stuff.

Would this be a scam? The last 3 times I've ordered from TFH they put samples with it. Somehow Chris knows what will work with my chemistry and this causes me order right away to buy these samples. My last order came last week and now I'm ready to order 2 of the samples I received, this is madness!

Yes, I have only heard people saying that Kratom was being cut with fentanyl. As far as I know, it has never been found to have happened.

I have heard of powder being enhanced with extract (without it being disclosed), and having caffeine added. I am not sure how true any of it is...

Lucky you. I'm not a member and found one of my new favorite blends (Great Bali of Fire) in the form of a TFH open event order sample. Now I'm unable to order it again. I'm not sure that I'll ever let those last couple of grams go.

Is Chris using some top secret Kratom AI to generate these sample picks or what?

I think he is. Kind of like how Rhino has a teleporter to get your order to you 2 hours after you pay for it.

I think the secret recipe is = be nice to the mailman. :D Or maybe he just lives down the street from a post office ? It's a mystery for sure ha-ha.

Didn't Chris (TFHJ) say something once about how they keep track of people's orders with a spreadsheet just so that they can do better recommendations ? I'd swear I read that once, but maybe I'm mis-remembering it.

As far as kratom scams, I've never run into any. Some places are just hit & miss, so these days I don't buy from them anymore. MM has helped me find 1/2 a dozen good vendors that I will probably stick with until they either go out of business, or I quit taking kratom. I never expected much from kratom to start with though, having tried 1/2 of all the other common (and a few slightly less common) herbal supplements and such - so when it did sort of work for me, I was plenty happy that it did anything positive, and have never even tried an 'extract' or sought out super ultra couch-lock strong kratom. It (kratom) is what it is, and as long as it's decent/half fresh and doesn't make me sick, then I'm fine with it as it is and don't need to go looking at any new scam sellers with 500 made-up strains making wild claims ha-ha.

He must have said this because I remember it too! Keeping track of members' ratings when they test samples so they get a better idea of what works with whose chemistry, or something to that effect.

These are facts. I once ordered from Rhino and it got here before I hit enter. The mailman had to wait in the driveway, but he was cool about it.

When I was (much) younger I enjoyed a television program, the characters would "jaunt" by placing their hande on their belt buckles (like teleporting)

Before ATMs were common there WERE some machines that one could withdraw cash from. The cards were similar to credit cards, and a code was needed to withdraw cash. They had a rainbow, and were "Teller Beam" cards.

My parents still use "teller beam" as a verb. "Can you 'teller beam' me a $100 when you go out later?"

For at least a year, maybe longer, I have only ordered from 6 vendors and two of them are on this thread which gives me peace of mind. What about the other 4 you may ask? They are long standing vendors here so I will trust in what Rhino said that they are not part of that group. I am glad I actually took the time to read this thread, I almost skipped it!

Rhino, TFH, Lonestar. I'd even add Kog. Their quality has gone down over the years but they're still legit. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple. Somebody will correct me.

We are about the same. I posted this in the top 5 vendor post too. Rhino, LSMS, Denette, TFH, Lucky and Mitra Man. I have not found a desire or need to go elsewhere for quite a bit lately. It seems being narrow with my choices may have paid off which is weird because I am the type of person that feels the need to try everything on the menu at a restaurant.

Oh- I think I have made purchaes from probably roughly 50 vendors. I rarely am smart enough to purchase sample packs, and often make a pretty large first time purchase.

Currently, I am rotating Denette, Rhino, Heaveleaf and Lucky. I have been rying my best to make a dent in the rest of my stash, though!

Don't get me wrong, I have ordered from far more than 6 vendors in my lifetime. I just have not ordered from more than those 6 in quite some time, no need to and frankly considering the post we are on am glad I haven't.

Yup quite a few vendors are buying stateside bulk from a big supplier and using the lab test from them by photoshopping there company names on to them. Super sketchy.
That is soooo dangerous! I know you can't post names but I would love to know so that I never ever buy from that vendor
One of them is on here. But I couldn’t in good faith call them out as a fellow vendor. What funny is people are claiming its fire, what they don’t know is there buying bulk tarp dried leaf most likely spiked with extract. It’s literally 2 maybe 3 bulk strains all relabeled with different names. So ever single “strain, they buy is literally the exact same leaf. It’s sad really and very dishonest.I’ve seen the modified lab test and the original that they used.
Definitely a major problem for honest vendors with integrity. How can we compete with enhanced powder when most people seem like they can't even tell the difference? Very discouraging.

That is a big problem right now. That is why I am leery about who I do business with. There seems to be a lot of shady pop up "tax return" vendors. Someone in a field that has no crossover with Kratom gets a couple thousand dollars and thinks they are going to start an empire out of their apartment. Most vendors I know have other full time jobs/careers. Its called adulting, there are no shortcuts to success.

As far as people adding fentanyl, it is an Urban Legend.
It couldn't be distributed evenly throughout.
Many people would die.
It wouldn't financially make sense for anyone to add something more expensive.
There has never been an instance that anyone can prove this actually happened.
Many people who use Kratom are NOT looking for any sort of "high" or wanting to feel like they are on "dope" or whatever so it would only be appealing to a limited number of the Kratom market.
The penalties for doing this are extremely serious, especially if someome dies from it.
My knowledge of Fentanyl comes from secondary and primary sources.
As far as primary sources, my dad and his friends are big into the "alternative lifestyle" scene and are very experienced when it comes to certain hard drugs.
From what they told me, the amt of fentanyl needed is so minute, and so much cheaper than similar drugs, that it really wouldn't cost that much.
It would be like a small investment, with the hope of getting people hooked.

As far as evenly distributing... I have no experience there, but I can imagine that, since it can come in powder form, it could potentially be mixed into kratom powder.
Especially since it is already being mixed into many street drugs. It doesn't seem that far fetched to me.

Just something to consider. I have heard stories of people dying with both kratom and fentanyl in their systems. And then they try to use that as a way to blame kratom and make it look bad.

😳 That has been one of my fears, I'm semi new to kratom (8months) I rely on members reviews here and mewe on different vendors to try. I use kratom medicinally.
Which Mewe groups do vendor reviews?I just joined Mewe last week.

mitragy9 wrote: Wed Sep 01, 2021 12:04 am I have encountered the bait and switch scam many times and it is always pretty damn disappointing. Even reputable vendors have pulled this kinda stuff on me throughout the years and this type of shit is pretty common sadly. I get that there is batch variance but when you order a green strain that you loved from the samples and you receive brown looking weak stale shit leaf with the same batch number and strain labeled on it, it becomes blatantly obvious. As far as other scams I luckily haven't really encountered any in my 7 years of using kratom other than the fake labs and bullshit mitragynine percentages, which again is also very common. Also no one is mixing kratom with fentanyl or other opioids lol.
Luckily I've never been scammed in that way, but I pity those who have. It's something I wouldn't imagine a vendor doing, since they have a reputation to uphold. That's why I said it mostly likely happens when ordering from Indonesia, or maybe a wholesale distributor. Bullshit mitragynine percentages are a major thorn in my side. It keeps raising the standards and incentivizes honest vendors, like me, to lie abt mitra percentages, which I'm simply unwilling to do. In fact, I go so far as to use a lab that is known for not bullshitting at all. I've heard things about how Wonderland Labs tends to exaggerate their results to attract more vendors to their services, which is why I go with Murray Brown labs instead.

The reason I brought up mixing kratom with fentanyl is because I have close family friends who are involved in the street drug scene. They tell me about how people they know sometimes buy kratom on the streets for dirt cheap, and it's not that far fetched to imagine street people who have easy access to wholesale quantities of fentanyl to mix it into their kratom to make it more addictive.

4 KRATOM SCAMS

1) FAKE Test Results (most common) The only way to know for sure that your kratom is safe is by getting it tested yourself, like I do with Herba Rosa. But it’s important to use a lab with a good reputation.

2) Mixing Their Kratom with Additives

That gets into... GMP "Good Manufacturing Practices" a buzzword the AKA uses, to bash smaller vendors... while promoting their Retail head-shop vendors. NONE of those AKA vendors appear as cGMP - since a core Assessment in Botanical Agricultural, collection practices - IS transparent records & identification of every source, every Supplier... every "farm" and every tree. Show me 1 AKA vendor with any such documentation ?? None. It's all BS!

For anyone who's curious HERE are the AHPA Guidelines for cGMP. Yes they're pretty complex. https://ahpa.org/AHPAResources/GoodAgri ... tices.aspx

Which gets into... NFHC. Not For Human Consumption. :P. Every. Single. Vendor. here on MM, sells NFHC - right - Does everyone understand that ?? Go ahead look at websites. (Chat Room guys don't count, since they're not real vendors, they don't have a Terms & Conditions.) So the AKA is trying to say... their AKA vendors are selling Supplements ?? Capsules, etc for people? But wait... Kratom is NOT approved by the FDA!!

This is another complicated SCAM - Basically, WHEN the FDA ever does approve Kratom as a Supplement ?? :o Within weeks, AKA is gone... ALL these small vendors disappear, and we'll see Kratom sold in Walmart by big companies such as: Herb Pharm, Gaia Herbs, Rainbow Light Nutrition, New Chapter, etc.

Hmm. How's SoSa doing anyone seen him lately ? lol
I agree that testing 50 grams out of a 20 ton load means nothing... which is why I test 75g out of each 30kilo batch. It's very expensive, but I do it because I care and I don't want anyone to get sick. I also want to hold my supplier accountable.

And yeah, I'm not happy about the AKA propaganda either. You can still be GMP "compliant" without being "certified". It's prohibitively expensive for a smaller vendor to actually get certified. I looked into it.

Yes! I sell as not for human consumption as well. But if I were in a Kratom Consumer Protection Act state, I'd be required to sell it as "for consumption" and I'd be required to get certified for GMP.
Thank God I'm in California right now, but I do plan on moving to Nevada (a KCPA state), but I can't do so until my business grows enough to afford certification.

Thanks for acknowledging my point about the additives! It isn't that far fetched, really.

You're right about the lab testing, which is why I test every 30 kilos (every 20 for my current 3 batches).

As for the hard drug adulteration, there are cases where it's possible. I mainly bring it up cause I know people who know people involved in the fentanyl world.
If someone is able to buy it in bulk higher up in the supply chain, the price is significantly cheaper. At that point, it can be economically feasible.
Even if it does add to the cost, the idea would be to get people addicted and to keep them coming back for more. Like an investment for customer retention.

The fentanyl adulteration seems far fetched Herba, because I don't think you realize the quantities involved in killing someone with no or low tolerance amounts to what looks like a few grains of salt. It would seem the adulterated material would clump in to probably one of that person's doses and they would OD.

But I guess anything is possible.

Fentanyl isn't even available like that anymore, China banned pretty much all Fentanyl analogues and the sale of precursor. The vast majority of fentanyl is being illicitly produced in Mexico by the Cartel. It's all to be sold as heroin(fentadope) and counterfeit pills. No one is lacing kratom with fentanyl lmao it just isn't realistically possible, any person that would attempt this would immediately kill their customers. Without extreme homogenization techniques only possible in a laboratory setting lacing fentanyl into kratom wouldn't be possible and would result in hotspot city. Other novel opioids are a possibility but I just don't think anyone would realistically do this shit it isn't smart or beneficial long term. The majority of "adulerated kratom" is kratom being sprayed with isolated kratom alkaloids, like mitragynine.

I agree, with all who posted here it's just not a workable idea. Does not happen. So... should not be discussed ?? :? Unfortunately imo we must address nasty rumors, "urban legends" etc otherwise, social media will spread the BS... seen it happen. Fear-mongering over a kratom "Ban"... People sick from overdose on horse wormer. On and On.

A BIG part of the whole "Adulterated" rumor... is AKA. :o The AKA is going around, claiming that kratom is often "Adulterated". In fact that's their #1 Reason to "Regulate" kratom at the state level - we barely avoided a terrible Regulation in Oregon that would have forced Consumers to buy from 1 crappy Oregon vendor... Criminal penalty, for vendors not registered with the State.

Wow, isn't that a BAN - effectively ?? So recently I did look at what AKA is telling politicians, about kratom. 1- AKA claims that pure 7-hydroxymitragynine is being used, to adulterate kratom. BUT, they cannot show 1 recent example where that's actually proven... 2- AKA's evidence as follows: Quote - "We purchased several commercially available Kratom analogs for analysis and, through our results, present evidence of adulteration with the highly potent and addictive plant alkaloid, 7-hydroxymitragynine."
  • Phoria™ (Miami, FL, USA) eight products:
  • Phoria™ red, Phoria™ green, Phoria™ regular.
  • Phoria™ Borneo white vein, Phoria™ Borneo red vein, Phoria™ Borneo green vein,
  • Phoria™ Maeng da blue lotus, Phoria™ Maeng da kava,
  • Green Vein "extra strength" Kratom Shot (Orbit distributors, Houston, TX, USA), and
  • Viva Zen (Vivazen distribution, Salt Lake City, UT, USA) were purchased from a local market.
A Study from 2016 !! - "Multiple commercial Kratom products" = FALSE!! These are "strains" of ONE actual kratom powder - from ONE company in Miami FL - Five years ago! Two other Retail products were manufactured liquid "Shots" which by definition, are not natural Kratom. In fact the developer of Viva Zen "shots" has been a major contributor to AKA!! -- Of course AKA also repeats the case of "Krypton" in Europe from ten years ago.

That's ALL of their evidence... that kratom is "Adulterated" and so... really MUST be "Regulated" ??

There are no vendors doing this. Sorry, haha.

I would really like to know who the vendor is that's spoken of misrepresenting their product and "spiking" it with extract mentioned earlier in this thread, though.. If anyone sees this and is aware of said vendor's identity, I would greatly appreciate a PM. I don't want to get into extract and my funds are very limited so it'd be rough to spend my "kratom allowance" on a vendor whose stuff would mess up my tolerance.
