How many of you have lost the ability to whistle?

Post by ItsTimeForAnAlt »

I have a significantly harder time whistling if I'm on a Kratom routine. I CAN still whistle, however, it's different. It's like I have to let more air through and let it through slower. Cat calling or other techniques where you have to blow fast is much harder for me. I believe this because Kratom dries out my lips. I remember a few months ago I had quit taking Kratom, and I could whistle normally again and was like, "Wow! I thought it was my braces this whole time!"

What about you guys? Noticed any loss of ability to whistle partially or entirely?

If only kratom could bring the world together by ending cat calling! What an amazing herb. ;)

But no . . . I never noticed that because I've never been able to whistle.

I can whistle, but I wouldn't mind a refresher course. ;)

I wish this was the answer. I drink 3-4 liters of water per day. Usually only have one can of diet soda if I decide to drink anything else, usually I choose milk though.

Try Biotene mouthwash for dry mouth, works pretty good.

I lost my ability to whistle 15 years ago when my crushing responsibilities and the realization that it was too late to accomplish any of my dreams combined to suck out any of the life and joy that are necessary to whistle a tune .

just kidding . I just whistled the whole 15 minutes of Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture . Lust for life!

What a great question! I've noticed I can't whistle anymore. Started several years ago. Yeah. Now that's strange.

I whistle fine but sometime in my 30's I completely lost the ability to hulahoop. I also realized I can't spell hoolahoop.

didn't know this was a side effect, but never could whistle very well. And never could do the really loud whistle with my fingers.

Just started Kratom myself, but this thread grabbed my attention because I'm a huge whistler. I just whistle spontaneously often, been that way for years. And I just, with a slight panic, tried to whistle now and low and behold I do notice a difference in my ability. The upper specifically feels numb, as if it got a novacaine injection from the dentist, you know? I can't purse it as precisely as I did prior to Kratom(its been only days, mind you-- roughly 5-10 grams per day). I can still do it, but the ease with which I used to be able to whistle has been diminished. Truly fascinating.

When I was 8 my dad taught me how to whistle extremely loud with my fingers. I took me a couple of hours of practice to get it right. I see there are youtube videos now that show how to do it. I don't do it that way much anymore because it is so loud it hurts my own ears.
