Which strains from mitra man are currently really hitting well?

Post by Mean Malay »

I'd usually get the super green, PMD, GMD, green JK, red MD, AND green batak. Those strains would always hit for me.

A few months back, I didn't feel anything at all with the the PMD, GMD, AND RED MD. It kind of put me off to ordering more kratom for a while because of the inconsistency, but mitra man is usually very consistent and is actually the only vendor I buy from since I know their stuff the most. I hate the sampling process and finding new ones and just like what works.

Last time I ordered from MM, the website was a bit different and there were more strains. Now there's only 20. Which ones of these 20 are currently hitting for you and when did you buy it?

edit: i ended up joining MM's group on MeWe and he even sent me a free bag of supposed better quality kratom because of a mix up from a while ago.
Glad to see his customer service is still top tier and there is no ill will

Unfortunately nobody can give you a guarantee that any one batch will work for you, even if they personally really like it, due to all that nonsense with personal chemistry. But I hope someone who's ordered from him more recently can help you out. The last time I ordered from him was in July or so. That said - Are you on MeWe by chance? His chat was pretty active last I checked, so there are people constantly talking about what they've got from him over there. Checking the chat might get you an quicker answer.

But you say he's the only vendor you buy from as well, so maybe the issue is that the batches you ordered last time were all from the same supplier and you got a bit burnt out? That's another weird thing that happens with kratom sometimes. It could be that all his Maeng Das were coming from the same place and rotating them with leaf he gets from a different supplier is all it takes to keep everything in working order. Might be worth talking to the guy in charge and seeing if he has any insight. He's relatively quick to respond to his emails, at least in my experience.

i don't know why i haven't thought about asking mitra myself. i kinda just succumed to the industry and how the same strain could be wildly different and just took it on the chin.

Yea i thought that i needed a change in vendor in the rotation, but all the good ones seem to be flash membership only. hopefully i'll get lucky sometime soon.
Thanks for the Mewe recommendation too!

If it helps your decision, I've never had a dud from Rhino's, ever, they all hit great, and some hit ridiculously well. There were a couple that weren't quite my flavor, but they were still solid batches. I strongly encourage you to take this opportunity. \m/

I just got into Kratom so take this with a grain of salt-- I am not by any means a seasoned user. I've not even tried headshop Kratom, and my only Kratom experience has been with a split order I did with a friend from Mitraman. We got Yellow Maeng Da, Supergreen, White Saka, and Red Horn.

I'd say all 4 are great in their own way. White Saka is what I just burned about half an hour ago and after 4g TnW I'm feeling a mental clarity-- there's just little to no struggle in anything I do on a mental level. The post I'm typing right now just flies off the brain and into the fingers and onto the post buffer. On top of this is a physical energy and stimulation that's pushing me at all times to do something. I was on it a few days ago too and it was most profound when I had to jump a puddle on the street and I just kind of *flew* as if gravity was saying "Let me give you a little break-- I like you". I don't know if this was some kind of euphoric illusion but it was quite noticeable at that moment and made me go "Wow".

The red horn at higher doses was *heavily* sedating for me, otherwise nice and relaxing. But 4g or more and I just cannot keep my eyes open.

Green is a great middle ground between the red and white, it has a little bit of everything. Hard to describe, because since I'm a newbie and I'm messing around with doses and sampling everything quite heavily, it's hard to get a truly isolated experience.

The yellow maeng da is my favorite because I'm just *beaming* while on this-- my cheeks hurt from just naturally smiling. Pain just washes away, won't make you fall asleep but will calm you down. They're all good but this one is a notch above for me.

Again-- grain of salt, I'm a newbie, so I'm sure my total lack of tolerance is going to do a lot of heavy lifting here with how positive my reaction is. I'm quite pleased with all of them though and I'd happily get them again but I'm more of a sampler(I tend to not get the same thing at restaurants, but rather I "try the whole menu"). Despite being that way, the Yellow MD is a rare exception and I am absolutely certain that will be a repeat buy for me once I go to Mitraman again.

Mitra Man is definitely one of my favs for sure! Keep notes on all the kratom you try and really like. That way you will remember which one's were good and which ones to skip. Before I discovered this forum, I was wasting a lot of money!
You really lucked out getting some to try for the first time with MM! He has a Batch #141 that is absolutely a great burn for me. My husband tried it a couple of weeks ago and didn't really care for it. So for him I will get in there and start mixing up different batches that I have had and he seems to get a great burn each time. I keep notes on different blends I make also. Elephant and Summer Blast were pretty good. But definitely try the 141 .... I have four vendors that I use because you really need the different batches from different vendors ..... doing the same batch will not work for me for more than a week so now I see the need to have a few good vendors in my rotation. I'm definitely looking for one or two more to add to my rotation. Good luck!

LoneStar MitraSource always has fire. Chris W. is smart and a very good vendor. Not one bad batch yet, he has testers and you can tell just by the menu descriptions that love and experience are present.

I thought I would just use it sometimes in rotation but it has flipped. I go straight to his shit and then some other vendors.

Depends on what you're looking for, faster, slower, mid..... You can also ask Ryan (owner Rhino's) which ones might fit your tastes. He's a really cool guy and very helpful in that regard.

I too am curious about which strains you'd say are in that "hit ridiculously well" category. Interested in slower mostly, perhaps mid that leans slower as well.

i typically search out for the faster specs. I liked his PMD the absolute best probably, then the others i liked are the super green, batak, and red horn.

There isn't a strain name for 141 .... I emailed first to see how I ordered this certain batch and he said when I placed my order to put Batch 141 in the notes .... send an email over to him. I hope you like #141 as much as I do.

I haven't tried his latest drop, and a lot of the ones that were ridiculously good for me aren't on there currently, but I can list a few.

Premium Red Horn - slower with great uplift relaxing yet not drowsy.
Premium Red Vein - slower with great uplift relaxing yet not drowsy.
Premium White - slow for a white but this is one of the batches that was ridiculous for me
Green Horn - mid to slightly upper-mid
Green Elephant - energetic green
Green Vein - mid to upper-mid
Super MD (C supplier) - mid maybe a little slower
All A supplier

The one that really knocked my socks off was the Super Green Rhino which unfortunately isn't currently on the menu, just keep an eye out for it, but all of the batches mentioned above were well above average to me. Again, I would ask Ryan for some guidance with your ordering since I haven't tried these yet this season, but all of the reviews on this season's batches have been very positive. The other ones that were ridiculous but also not currently on the menu were Green Vein, Green MD, Green and White Kasengan, all from the C supplier. \m/

Thanks you two, I'll keep this in mind. I think I'll go to Rhino next simply to get a feel for another vendor because I currently have experience with just 1. I'll also try to sample the strains from the newer drop and report my findings on this forum since I can't seem to find anyone with reviews of these yet.

I'm almost feeling bad for not continuing to sample more Mitraman in my next order, simple because I was so happy with the 4 strains I got. But again, as a total newbie and an adventurer I feel too compelled to explore, so I can form my own opinion of how the different vendors match up. But chances are if the Kratom from the vendor tons of people strongly recommend makes my cheeks hurt from a prolonged beaming smile, I may not need further investigation to conclude early on that it's safe to say it's very good Kratom. :)

But chances are if the Kratom from the vendor tons of people strongly recommend makes my cheeks hurt from a prolonged beaming smile, I may not need further investigation to conclude early on that it's safe to say it's very good Kratom. :)
Yeah, I agree with that wholeheartedly! Since everyone's body chemistry reacts to various kratom types differently, if you've found some that hit for you, then that's great!

I have been rotating through a number of vendors since I started taking kratom a couple months ago. Sometimes I just want to stop trying new types and vendors and just stick with what I know has worked. I haven't yet let myself do that fully because all wisdom on the matter says I'll keep my tolerance lower by keeping them rotated.

So far, I've had the most consistent time with Lucky Herbals. Denette's is a close second with Smiley Time Herbals being a close third. I don't feel like three vendors is enough to keep the rotation fresh, so I broke down and ordered from Rhino Remedies. I have high hopes based on the huge amount of positive reviews for RR here.

Mitra Man is on my short list for upcoming orders for the same reason RR was on my short list.

Interesting. Is there some way you know of squeezing into Lucky if new members aren't being accepted? They've been on my radar since before I tried Kratom and was researching where to purchase from but the no new members thing has kept me from purchasing. Is there like, a waiting list, or does one just need to get "lucky"?

No waiting list, and no secret way in; just keep checking the site. Lucky opens for new members on a pretty regular basis so, while I can't say this for certain, I doubt it will be that long before the next registration window. In the meantime, there might be some Lucky leaf on the trading post - I ended up trying them that way, then keeping an eye on the website and applying once I saw they were open.

I think October 30th(?) is Lucky's 3 year anniversary. They will be having a special and accepting new members.

I received 12 types from Mitraman late August. They were all reds and I didn't have the best results with many of them. My two favorites were Red Bali and Red Thai. I usually only get greens from him so will probably keep it that way after my last experience. He sent a tester of a green that was very good.

It seems like this is on hold until this October(Halloween) actually, according to the owner. Unfortunate.

That's disappointing, but good things are worth the wait!

Gotcha, it's good to hear your experience.
Have you purchased any greens recently?
I should also mention I've been dealing with broken sleep and long covid symptoms.. so I'm guessing others will have better luck w/ the reds.

yea i bought his super green, batak, and PMD lately. the 3 greens that did the most for me, but they're not really hitting me. However, i've been going through something where i feel like a lot of the kratom i'm taking isn't really hitting me. I am taking a specific batch of his red horn which hits me well, but i may be in need of a tolerance break even though i'm only at about 14GPD.

You can try even a 48 hour t-break and then your standard dose of supergreen on an empty stomach. I 100% guarantee it hitting you very hard, that's a very potent Green.
