Moisture Content in Fresh Kratom & Long-term Storage

I'm sure most of you have noticed that fresh kratom has a very slight moisture to it. It is especially noticeable in greens and whites.

When I open a fresh bag the powder tends to clump a bit. But after leaving it exposed to free airflow for just a day it will stop clumping [because it's dried out].

I've accumulated a lot of kratom and am going to store much of it for a few years.

I'm wondering if the moisture of the fresh product could present a problem if stored very long term (years).

Everyone recommends storing kratom in a cool, dark, dry place and to avoid moisture at all costs. Many recommend air-tight containers.

If so, perhaps letting it "air out a bit" before re-sealing it in an air-tight container would help prevent mold growth etc.

What would you all recommend?

Has anyone ever had their kratom grow mold or have other issues develop after long term storage?

I've read all the stuff about potency and temperature etc. I'm specifically asking about the moisture content that seems to be present in most freshly opened batches.

I've never noticed any moisture in any new and fresh kratom and have operated on the theory I should keep it sealed immediately after use.

I'm not an expert on what the best way to store Kratom is but my intuition is that storing it in something like a mason jar with an airtight seal, and away from sunlight in a cool place, would probably be one of the safer ways to store something like this long term. Ziplocks are not airtight, that much I do know.
