uhh well, most of the time ?? - My 1 order got screwed up, he promised to send things & didn't follow through. So that's a 100% screw up, with me. Then I read about others w/ same problems so, unfortunately - His screw-up Rate was over the top... I don't think he's a bad guy - Just too busy, confused, scatter brain, un-professional.

Joel got booted off Reddit r/kratom, the reason ? He was caught shilling his Leaf - under several fake accounts, same IP Address - His excuses were kind of funny, and hard to believe... Then, it was revealed that Joel was VERY active on the Reddit RC board, trading and selling Etizolam - He did confess / used that as another excuse to why shipments were delayed and orders screwed up. Caught red handed.

Just a guy, with too much Money, who bought a couple BIG loads from Indo (Big for 5 years ago, was maybe 2000 keys ) - 2 Tons not 20 tons like the Bulk crap we see today. So he DID import some decent batches - and tried to be a "vendor" but, just personally imo wasn't cut out to be a "vendor". Probably a nice guy personally but - Like many amateur "vendors" in this business - Buyers should probably look elsewhere for both Quality and Service. Buying from Enhanciosa was ... a "crapshoot"

As always JMHO 8-) Just My Humble Opinion... based on my own experience.

While I was not around for any of this... thanks so much for the explanation. I LOVE hearing about the history of the selling of Kratom here in the States.

Since you DO know so much of it - perhaps you should consider making a "history" thread. I would read pages of your account of the various players and how it went (I like the way you write and someone as knowledgeable as you should share). Or perhaps even just a blog post somewhere you could link to (the advantage of a topic here is that other "oldsters" - not in age but experience - could add their two cents).

I always thought it was the wild wild west nowadays, but can clearly see these times are settled compared to five years ago. Must have been both exciting and frustrating. But at least you all got to use the stuff (I never even heard about it until about a year ago, when I happened to catch Hamilton's Pharmacopeia. And then, of course, I started noticing that gas stations were selling the stuff here. Funny how you see things but don't observe).

Joel was always super cool with me and very supportive in the early days of the Double M. They (enhanciosa) were our first sponsor in fact. Good guy, very personable. We had some good phone chats about kratom and just business in general. He had some issues with his main supplier and then I think he moved on into other business ventures. I’m not sure when he stopped the kratom business, but he did tell me to take his links down so he was an honest dude and didn’t try to pull an exit scam like certain other vendors have in the past.

IMO, he’s a good guy. Just moved on to other things.

As you know, E, Web Hosting is dirt cheap... A major problem with our "Online Kratom Industry", is vendors who run dry and then leave the website up & continue to take orders. And probably fill those orders, with whatever old green powder they still have laying around, low quality leftovers .. after good batches got cherry picked & Sold Out.

Call that Stale Vendor Syndrome, SVS or whatever... seems like this happens pretty often. Since the whole "business" is shady, non-transparent, secret suppliers, fake strains, and ONE big change over 5 years ago ? We now have 100's of "vendors" operating in Chat Rooms, coming and going & it's gotten hard to tell, for Buyers - Who's got good, fresh, quality Leaf - and who's in process of dumping their old stuff?

Good to hear that about Joel. Looking back, I believe he un-loaded his remaining stock, with a local Retail store called: Austin Organic Village. Located right around the corner from Joel's home there... That guy, AOV - suddenly had a website, with the exact same "strains", and he's continued on. For anyone who is curious about Joel's stuff - here's the LINK - https://austinorganicvillage.online/

Kellytoons I was referring to the "Big change" being, sheer # of vendors prowling around the Internet  . sorry my writing's too wordy and not always clear.

I'm debating, and think I've decided - to Publish the TOTAL List of All Known Vendors. :o It's way over 200, I use that figure alot, but it's more like 300 and counting! - However I don't wanna get stuck with trying to "maintain" any such List - an impossible, time consuming task - main reason I've held back. :ugeek:

Okay, but... what happened. IOW, what (IYHO, of course) happened to make the number of vendors explode? There had to be some defining incident, right?

Can I make a guess? I discovered Kratom by watching an old episode of "Hamilton's Pharmacopeia" devoted to it. First I'd ever heard of it, and actually I had only discovered the show last year (so it was last year I started my Kratom journey). Looking at the actual date that episode premiered - December 12, 2017.

Coincidence? Perhaps, but it's interesting that nearly five years ago today a show came out watched by millions and I'm guessing up until that point very few folks had even heard of the substance. "Leaf of Faith", the movie about Kratom, came out a year later. Anyway, just something to ponder (I know I owe Hamilton a TON - without Kratom my life had been pretty miserable in terms of pain, prescribed opioids, and alcohol. Since that time my alcohol use has dropped to only recreational once a week, and zero use of opioids).

I think the crackdown on doctors prescribing pain meds is a huge factor. People were cut off without warning and without tapering and desperate for help they found kratom to help them with withdrawals and also to help with their pain. I only found it by googling pain because I was in extremely bad chronic pain and was never prescribed pain killers except after sinus and oral surgeries.

That's a good point.

I'm not sure if I was lucky or not, but my primary care physician has never been shy about prescribing opioids for me, even today (I saw him three weeks ago and he gave me 90 without blinking - I took the script and filled it because I might never know what the future may bring). When I did take them I took them responsibly (two or three a week, always before tennis) so he knew I could handle it.

But my problem - as a lot of folks will relate to - is tolerance. They just didn't do anything for me and I would NOT increase the dose (because I knew that way had trouble at the end). Kratom, so far at least, has been a reliable substitute in much the same manner (I only take it on tennis days, and then still two or three days off each week). My average dose is higher than most folks (around 6 grams) but it's stayed steady for a long time and every now and then I try lower doses just to see (I used a new strain at 5 grams that was fantastic - a Liza's Happy-go-Lucky one that did indeed live up to its name).

I still think Hamilton's show was a major factor, but perhaps it was the perfect storm of opioid crackdown, an internet viralness, and the show that all contributed. I'm sorry I missed out (although five years ago my pain was pretty tolerable and I was only taking one pill each week. As I've aged into my 70's it's gotten a lot worse).

I personally think it had more to do with early online drug communities, like bluelight, erowid, and drugs-forum, though there were many others, where it was discussed as a "legal high." the opioid crisis began being widely publicized in the early 2010s (not sure the exact year, someone can correct me on this), the poppy farm in Arizona getting raided by the DEA in 2010 (before, selling poppy pods online was a lucrative business), and the pill mills in Florida were getting shut down left and right, leading to the national illicit oxy market rapidly drying up.

doctors eventually stopped writing scripts because of public pressure around this time, and all the people on the drug communities were looking for something to turn to...the drug communities got more popular, kratom was being discussed less as a legal high and more as an opiate substitute, but it didn't really take off until all these factors happened. kratom connoisseurs/kc forum was around pretty early, not sure exactly but I remember it being around in 2012. there were a handful of vendors around at that time, but nowhere near as ubiquitous as it is now, and kratom was a lot more expensive than it is now for the most part.

vice may have had a small hand in it, but frankly I don't think Hamilton was really that popular. once r/kratom was launched, it was officially mainstream, it made the rounds to all sorts of other drug and pain related communities, and every recreational drug user and/or addict recommended it to each other, like a feedback loop. the rest is history.

We were friends, i haven't spoken to him in a few years now. We both started selling at the same time and would share information with each other.

He had issues with his neighbors calling the police on him and harassing him over the kratom. I also think he might have forgotten to pay the government some money. I do know he ventured out outside the united states after he quit selling kratom. Good guy overall i just think he didnt commit to the business

Hi everyone. This is Andrew at Enhanciosa, Joel's next youngest brother. I figured we should post a reply to this thread...

Joel took some time off to focus on travel and his eventual and recent marriage. Since then, he and I have worked to reboot Enhanciosa and I am running the front end while he advises me.

I saw some mentions of order consistency in the past and I would guess the accounts above are accurate (no reason to doubt) but likely not the norm as Joel had a solid reputation. That said, I wasn't there! But I am now.

Today, testing is the norm, quality is top notch, orders are accurate, and shipping is on time. All with great customer service (though all of you will be the judge of that)! If we lapse, and we do from time to time, the order is corrected in a big way.

Happy to clarify anything if I can.

Enhanciosa is open. www.enhanciosa.com
