When you say "works", I think you mean Black Seed Oil - UP regulates your Receptors. = Decreases, or Reverses Tolerance.

What happens IF you were to suddenly STOP taking daily Kratom ? Right, you'd go into a mild withdrawal while, AT the same time your Receptors begin to recover / get back to Normal / Up regulate. When you take Kratom Daily - you are Down regulating your mµ opioid Receptors... you are building Tolerance. Right ?

Sudden Up regulating may cause "Withdrawal" effects... RLS is one. Legs kicking at night. . Black Seed Oil "works" SO FAST, that I've had mild RLS, just HOURS after taking a bedtime serving of BSO!!

So when I’m not trying to lower tolerance, I shouldn’t take it?

A teaspoon or two of black seed oil will potenate your kratom take it 30 minutes before your dose.
