Different types of vision correction

Can anyone recommend LASIK or comparative treatment? Wanna get my eyes fixed with LASIK.

So I had poor vision / astigmatism from elementary school, used glasses for years, switched to contacts as a young adult, used them til about a year ago, they just started getting sticky all the time. I collected sunglasses so I stayed with contacts for awhile longer to make use of them, but after I moved and got a new optometrist, he recommended glasses as contacts were not as sterile and could cause more infections. So been wearing transitions which turn dark in the sunlight. But I do want to get some laser treatment instead of groping for glasses every morning.

How have you guys fared with vision correction?

BTW both my mom and dad had LASIK, dad's was instantly clear, mom's took a month to settle down from a tear.
