MIT 45 versus OPMS Gold/Green Rush Platinum

I've been taking kratom, usually plain powder, almost every day for about 6 years, take extracts when I have bad pain or anxiety that won't let me focus. Never experienced significant wd symptoms on days I don't take it for whatever reason, much easier than the blistering headaches skipping caffeine causes me.

That was just to give a quick background of my experience with kratom. For a couple of years now I've been regularly taking OPMS gold capsules, 2-3 per day, or Green Rush platinum 2-3 per day. OPMS is my favorite as far as desired feeling (relaxation, pain-relief, increased focus), with Green Rush a runner-up (doesn't last as long or quite as well).

So now this MIT 45 has been on the market, and people who've never had prior exposure to kratom are trying it for the first time in droves since Circle K sells it in multiple strengths and prices at the front counter next to their CBD products (which are good quality). I've tried MIT 45 capsules, black bottle and silver bottle shots, silver pack of extract enhanced powder, and have been highly disappointed every time. They never relax me, they don't relieve pain, they don't provide energy or do much of anything I can even detect.

Does any other seasoned kratom takers feel the same way about MIT 45s? That they're overhyped and overrated particularly by new users who've never tried any of other arrays of strains/extracts available?

From everything I've learned, the alkaloid that has the most significant desired effects is actually the 7-hydroxy-mitragynine, being much more potent, stronger analgesic effects, etc., although it's in much lower quantity per gram of leaf than mitragynine.

On the back of a pack of OPMS gold capsules, it lists not just mitragynine content but the total alkaloid count, including amount of 7-hydroxy, which is listed at 6.5 or 6.8 mg per 500 mg capsule, mitragynine at about 65 mg per if I remember correctly.

The back of a pack of Green Rush platinum says mitragynine 74 mg + "proprietary blend" per cap. Although the mitragynine content is higher than OPMS gold, as I mentioned earlier in the post, they don't last as long or have the range of desired effects I'm accustomed to. I only take them once in a while to give myself a tolerance break from the Golds, but consistently 2 Golds will give me a significant effect each and every time.

TL DR alternate version:

7-hydroxy-mitragynine > mitragynine ?

From my experience comparing the two most popular extracts, OPMS Gold and Green Rush platinum, against the new and imho over-hyped MIT 45s. These MITs can claim having the highest mitragynine content per weight which they likely do, but feel like they have no 7-hydroxy whatsoever in any form taken. The mg content cannot even be found on their website.

Subjectively for myself, no 7-hydroxy mitragynine listed as included in a kratom extract = little to no effect compared to products which clearly state containing it.

I've been extremely curious if anyone else feels the same way. From what I see at the multiple Circle Ks I frequent throughout the city, they're selling poorly compared to their CBD products which they can hardly keep stocked, while the displays with the MITs are bursting at the seams from lack of sales. I just had a conversation with my local smoke shop owner who said they took MIT 45s off the shelves completely because so many regulars were complaining that they can't get anything out of them.

As everyone knows, I'm no expert, but when it comes to unregulated supplements, etc, there could - literally - be anything in the bottle or jar. There was a REALLY big stink about it popular supplements a few years ago https://www.cbsnews.com/news/herbal-sup ... y-general/.

This kind of thing has me scratching my head every time I need to buy vitamins (or any herbal remedy).

If your friend assures you that the MIT45 isn't selling, it sounds like folks have discovered - like you - that the bottle doesn't contain what it promises

To add to what Greyfeather said, don't pay attention to those alkoloid percentages on the pack cuz they mean very little, studies now believe that mitragynine is converted to 7ohm in your liver.

Not only that, it seems high mitra% is more weaker from my experience. It makes my head scratch. It might be more balanced but more weaker.

Like Brave, I to was at a Circle K and saw the MIT45 bottles and capsules. I have a good friend who uses Kratom either everyday or damn close to everyday. We have similar back pain issues that stemmed from a 150 mph car crash that involved trying to split the gap between a semi truck and a Greyhound bus. Somehow... we were both very blessed to have literally walked away from the accident. Unscathed? Not so much. Let’s just say, for me, the aftermath destroyed my life. I had terrible back pain non stop. Which led to doctors, which led to pills, which ultimately led to a heroine addiction that took every from me. Now that I have been sober for coming up on 9 years, I have been taking CBD for some time now. Since Kratom is also herbal, I was willing to try it and the MIT45 shot and a pack of the MIT45 Silver caps are what I bought. This is the first time I have ever used Kratom, so I’m hoping my review will give a decent, unbiased opinion since I have nothing to compare it to outside of my history with very strong and life damaging opiates.
I have yet to take the capsules. My initial dose was of the glass bottle. After opening the bottle, I noticed a sweet smell. That did not compute when I drank the extract. The taste was a overpowered with a bitter kick that took a solid minute to go away. And the syrupy consistency distributes that bitter taste in a Lovely film that coated the inside of my mouth which I feel like I can still taste. However, within 10 min or so, I did notice some effects. It’s a mellow, calming, warm bodied feeling. I notice some similar opiate like pain relieving qualities. Having nothing to compare them to, I can’t say the potency is as good as some of the examples you stated above. What I can say, is that there is a noticeable difference in how my body feels prior to taking it. And I can see using this on the days where my ibuprofen and Tylenol aren’t solving the issue. I would recommend this to individuals struggling with getting opiates and looking for something to minimize the effects of withdrawal, while avoiding prescriptions like Suboxone, which is even harder to kick.
