Cold brew kratom?

I love cold brew coffee and green and guayusa tea (thank you Brave777!).

Has anyone tried the method for kratom? Will the goody alkaloids make their way into the drink without heat, with or without acid, like lemon, citric acid, or ACV?

Oh wow. I've been calling it 'Red Bubble Tea' but, my daily kratom drink using 3-Step process... is really Cold Brewed!

I think Cold Brew Coffee HAS already been brewed, using a heat process? Then cooled and (add sugar, cream, etc.) and sealed in bottle or can? Not exactly sure or maybe it's different recipes - Kratom imo you really need 1- Heat, 2- Acid, 3- Freeze, to break down the powder. Doing all three, your powder is turned into sludge it's totally softened up for consuming... I never drink my kratom hot! Always cold in fridge... even gets better the 2nd day.

Ground coffee beans there's oils and obviously, aroma... and you don't EAT the coffee grounds!!

No, cold brewed coffee isn't heated, the grounds are submerged in room temp water overnight. The result is a concentrate which can then be diluted with water, milk, what have you.

There is no bitterness, and while it won't replace a hot cuppa, it is sublime over ice with a splash of cool water. Alternatively, it could be heated.

I didn't think about the red bubble method, but cold brewing the kratom would skip the hot water.

Ay yah, anyone want to test it out?

Mike, mitragynine has very poor solubility, not just kratom powder, but most the alkaloids as well. Increasing temperature means increasing solubility of the alkaloids and powder in water/tea. While yes, one could cold press, this would be an extremely poor extraction method and likely a waste of alks/powder as a lot of settle at the bottom of the kettle/pan/cup.

Essentially there's a limit to how much the water can take on, and that limit increases with temperature. pH (identified in the study) and surface pressure (elevation no accounted for in the study) would play a role as well, but generally it's pretty easy to read this one.

I can't argue what works best for one person or the other, but typically one would want to consume as warm as possible to have the highest solubility to have the most amount in the system and not left on the container...

Has anyone tried to make paper filtered kratom tea using a coffee maker?

It probably wouldn't be too potent, but it definitely make for a tasty brew with some added lemon
