Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
For the past several months, I've been experiencing a stuffy feeling in my ears which I've attributed to sinus pressure. I take allergy meds and also use a neti pot every day (if you've never used a neti pot, I highly recommend it if you are an allergy sufferer like me!).
I've been doing some research on this symptom in connection with kratom, and I found some very interesting threads on reddit and around the web where people are reporting that when they take kratom they get a similar stuffy ear feeling.
Just wondering if anyone else experiences this? Chances are pretty high it is just sinus pressure from allergies, but those threads I found make me wonder if kratom may cause this very rare strange side effect in some people.

Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
I think i had that when i first started and didnt know better used some enhanced umi or something kratom, like its not really stuffy, its more like your in your own head space but you know someone just called your name and trying to grab your attention, you turn around to double check and yes you were right... Maybe when your enjoying it at peak, it reduces the volume temporarily? I know it can happen if taken way to much or very often and every day to the point where it makes you ignorant in a sense you dont care much about shit. but it easily goes away as soon as you take a break. unless i am just assuming. Stuffy ears could also mean high elevation? Do you live in the mountains? i know i get that when i drive around high mountains. This is just what i think but i am not sure.

Yeah exactly, feels like I’m at high elevation but I’m not. I live in the plains.
It’s a congested feeling. Like when you need to pop your ears really bad but they won’t pop. I’ve just been chalking up to sinus/allergy issues. Bad allergies all summer, bad sinuses all winter. The circle of life.
Been taking kratom for a long time, and this only started happening some months back. Wondering if it’s from long term use. Just seeing if anyone else out there has experienced something similar.

Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
I know this sounds strange but try it and get back and see if it worked, its called getting grounded. Bare foot on grass or dirt for 10- 20 min, its kind of like walking on the beach and touching sand with bare feet, your hearing as crispy as new. I mean their is stuff like https://emf-protection.com/product/cano ... nding-kit/ that grounds the canopy or emf blankets and it especially helpful if your in apartments 2 or 5 floors up, not the first floor where you can just walk out and walk on grass or dirt. Wearing rubber shoes long term can disconnect from being ground as well. I might be over thinking but what do you have to lose if try it? not much right?
I think as 5g and soon 6g hits, more and more people will have many strange side effects. there is already tons of reports and unbelievers become believers. But to each their own.
It seems we often blame kratom when many outside life factor influence is ignored. The whole life is a puzzle, its rather people start figuring it out or keep swallowing pain pills or kratom and ignore the real issue.
Side note, i noticed what the ringing in the ears was, the smart light bulbs... i removed them and all the ringing stopped. Circle of life? imagine how much money i would of spent buying unneeded stuff or ear drops or what ever if i didnt figure it out? alot... It could be something as simple as stop eating something or a certain soda. Like sprite gave me insane allergy's to pollen, i stopped it and allergy's to pollen went away, and it completely went away when i started eating local raw honey everyday. Now this was for me, for others it could be completely something else. Ever since i learned about sprite side effects i stopped all soda's and been clean over 5 years now. No more claratin junky, it got to the point when my liver was screaming for help. I sure dont want to return to that night mare. This is the reason i said try walking barefoot outside, it could be something simple and what if it solves the issue? If not solved maybe change the batch, or take a little break if that don't work.

Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
All I get from kratom (and hydrocodone) is tinnitus. I hate the constant ringing/buzzing.
I did just get my ears vacuumed out, it's nice to be able to hear again! However, that problem is due to a lifelong issue of producing too much earwax and "strangely curved ear canals" according to the ear doctor.

Have y’all tried ear candles ? I’ve actually seen gnats and other small insects come out of peoples ears. Especially people who work outdoors a lot. Any health food store should have them. They are definitely worth a try.

When I was living in North Idaho, I used to candle a lot of ears. I had a knack for it. Some candles work better than others though and I found more that didn't work as well then ones that did.MycatTimmy wrote:Have y’all tried ear candles ? Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
A while back, I got some homeopathic, all-natural ear drops at the store. They worked for a bit but then lost their effectiveness.
So this week I picked up some really weird ear spray which creates like a foam. You're supposed to spray it in your ear, let it sit, then drain it out over a sink to remove excess dust, wax, etc from the ear canal. The first time I tried it, it almost scared me because the foam shoots out with such pressure. I wasn't prepared for that lol.

Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
Just want to warn everyone from doing candle ear wax pull. I had this done once on me and i think they damaged it more and massage therapist didn't know WTF she was doing, i felt like hot shit was falling and burning my ear.. well it was my mistake going in blindly with out any scientific research so i blame no one here. if i can save someone from further damage and free of charge i will be happy i did. Thats what humans are, we pass the knowledge if we know something can damage us. Its almost the same thing as saying Jesus is God. Going in blindly, dangerous stuff. Probably a bad example but by all means watch the video and they show how to remove it the correct way at the end. Just make sure you talk to someone who knows how to do this or perform it, THE CORRECT WAY!

Ear wax can be a serious issue and it can happen to anyone one of us at least once in a life time.
Here is a video how you can do it your self at home and not break the bank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE_OlSmXQsg
as you see, we all need ear wax in ear for many reasons, just some people get way to much so something needs to be done. and its not good to take all of it out. you could have water trapped in your ear and nothing help it slide it out when you shake your head to the side. Every single person has it.
Side note, i once had a small ant crawl into my ear when i was sleeping, it was crawling in my ear drums and every step it took i could hear the crackling sound. that was so annoying and it made me insane mad not knowing what to do, so i went to the bathroom and tilted my head to the side so the ant can crawl up to escape. I got this theory from watching lady bugs and other insects before they fly away they always crawl to the top of the plant so figured this might work. and it did, as soon as i felt it crawled out, i felt such relief, i grabbed it right away.

Re: Kratom and stuffed/clogged ears
I get this with all opiates and opioids lots of wax, pressure like you're underwater lol, and tinnitus. It's also kind of scary that opiates/opioids have been connected with hearing loss in some people. Seems like anything that acts on the μ-opioid receptor might put you at risk for hearing loss if used over long periods. As for wax issues I usually will just lay on my side and put a diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide for 10 mins into my ear which will break up excess the wax. Then your ear can be cleaned out with warm water gently pushed into the ear with a oral syringe.

I experience this every single time I go 3+ hours past my normal dosing regimen (never when I wake up though, strangely). Though, I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same thing. What happens to me is I feel like my ears need to pop and my voice is stuck in my head. It’s maddening—especially since work is where it usually happens, and I suddenly stop feeling confident in my voice.
I have never had it happen as a result of taking the kratom, though.

That’s disturbing. I have a similar story though. One time I woke up to this horrible itch deep in my ear and my hand shot up to scratch it. Turned out a stinkbug had lodged itself completely into my ear canal and I crushed it before I’d even realized what happened. Didn’t take long for the smell to tip me off. I felt like I could still smell it for days. One of the most disturbing feelings ever.brave777 wrote:Side note, i once had a small ant crawl into my ear when i was sleeping, it was crawling in my ear drums and every step it took i could hear the crackling sound. that was so annoying and it made me insane mad not knowing what to do, so i went to the bathroom and tilted my head to the side so the ant can crawl up to escape. I had a friend have that happen where a bug flew straight into his ear and get lodged in there. I recommend getting it medically removed. It ended up dying and becoming infected in there

I tried some garuda wild green this morning and quickly got that stuffy in your head feeling and some muffling of sound, almost a ringing but a silent ringing, if that makes sense.
Then it went away in ten minutes. Burn was ok, just short.

I get that too with certain strains I assuming it's some type of alkaloid responsible for it along with minor pressure in your ears like you're underwater. Reminds me of opium poppy pod tea I would get this super intense pressure in your head/ears stuff would sound both very loud and very quiet at the same time(hard to explain almost like when water is super hot it feels cold for a second but instead it's with sound) along with ringing.IndelibleDotInk wrote:I tried some garuda wild green this morning and quickly got that stuffy in your head feeling and some muffling of sound, almost a ringing but a silent ringing, if that makes sense.

Very strange sensation but also oddly enjoyable for some reason. Opium tea also gave me what's known as Exploding Head Syndrome when I would go to sleep. That was honestly the weirdest shit I have ever experienced thankfully it has ceased since I quit taking traditional opiates like pod tea. It would would sound like a cheesy 80s action movie explosion sound right as I was about to fall asleep and it would wake me back up lol along with intense buzzing and pressure in my head. The buzzing and pressure actually felt very euphoric, idk maybe I have brain tumor or something

I think kratom one if it does happen is like a whistle in the background, its not bad and enjoyable, short term, mostly happens from fast greens? , but i think epoison got something else, like clogged?

I think kratom can cause excess wax production as well I actually had to have my ears cleaned out a few days ago since I couldn't hear anything out of my right ear. What's weird is the slight ringing went away even the wobbles seem to be not as bad. Very strange that just cleaning out the ear would have this much of an impact.brave777 wrote:I think kratom one if it does happen is like a whistle in the background, its not bad and enjoyable, short term, mostly happens from fast greens? , but i think epoison got something else, like clogged?

You might be on to something, this probably could explain why my earbuds get wax stuck in them and i have to clean them once in a while. Somehow i think the music or something pulls the wax out, its like little pieces get in the circle where the music plays. My hearing is good too, but since kratom is still in study we dont know if it does produce extra wax or not. That be something interesting to study for kratom study people.

I've been struggling for years with Aural Fullness in my right ear. Feels just like being in an airplane. But unlike being an airplane, my ears don't actually pop. The fullness just slowly dissipates after a few days. It flares up every couple of weeks and lasts for 2-4 days. I'm actually in the middle of a flare up right now. For me, my symptoms started long before I ever tried kratom so that isn't the cause. Kratom could be causing it for you though.
Best I can tell, my symptoms are due to eustachian tube dysfunction. Likely related to general sinus issues. You could be having the same problem as me. Maybe not though. Wouldn't hurt to have it checked out by an ENT.
