Anyone else switch to making kratom tea from toss/wash?
Long story short, I've been using the toss and wash method and taking Kratom daily for the past month and a half, and up until recently, it's been amazing. I'm taking it for depression/anxiety and have been so thankful for the daily mood lift, it's made life so much more pleasant as well as giving me huge energy boosts and allowed me to be more productive. I was taking 1 teaspoon daily in the morning on an empty stomach with grapefruit juice so that's only 2.5 grams but that seemed to be enough. I was feeling so good that I casually ignored the side effects (gas, bloating, constipation, weird stools) and tried to deal with it with making sure I was hydrated and taking various fiber supplements. Anyhow not sure if I had a bad batch last week but I had some serious stomach pains/vomiting and stopped the kratom for the last few days and have been clearing out my system on a fiber cleanse etc, I feel a lot better but after doing research it's time for me to put in the time to start making Kratom Tea.
I found this youtube video was the most detailed and easy to follow on instructions on how to make it,

Also, this reddit link is helpful as well,

Just wondering if anyone else has made this transition? I realize my issues could just be a bad batch but as mentioned the constant gas and thin stools/constipation/bloating that was occurring even before my physical meltdown leads me to believe that my digestive system just can't handle this kratom powder on a daily basis without these issues. Obviously, since I won't be digesting any of the actual powder with this tea creation this should solve my issues as it has for many others apparently. In the youtube video, the mixing with the lemon juice and heated water to increase the effects of kratom should hopefully be enough to make the mood lifting effects I desire as strong (if not stronger hopefully) as my toss and wash method even though I'll be straining out the powder etc.
Anyhow, for anyone else looking to try the tea making method hope those 2 links help as I spent a lot of time researching this method. Granted in the youtube video it's a very time consuming process but if you make a big batch and store bottles in the fridge that is very efficient for daily consumption. Going to go to bed bath and beyond tomorrow to buy a
Melitta Pour Over Coffee Cone Brewer & #2 Filter Natural Brown Combo Set which seems like an inexpensive and simple way to start filtering out the powder for my Kratom tea.

Great Info, thanks .. Reddit is still the #1 source of Information on kratom. Regardless of our opinions on the mods or how it's being managed.. Reddit Search Bar usually answers any question, even about vendors from last year.
I'm not really a Hot Tea drinker, but have written a Guide to Cold Brew kratom .. Freeze & Filter: Green Alkaloid Smoothie - covers the process of heating, cooling, freezing, and thawing your powder. Cold drinks mix so well with potentiators like vitamins and protein. This is really the future of kratom, served in bars and maybe Starbucks some day
The MORE I learn, the more I'm compelled to advise against the silly "Toss N Wash" method. That's like eating raw coffee grounds! Recent photos posted by Indo Genie, on MeWe / Facebook .. reveal the vast majority of kratom is dried on tarps, outdoors, exposed to all kinds of crap.. literally. Monkey Dung.. How does the expression go, An Inconvenient Truth - Yes its a hassle and time consuming, having to spend hours prepping kratom, boiling water, cooling, freezing, thawing, and mixing ..
But this is raw, bulk, plant material. Either Hot Tea, or cold Brew - is absolutely necessary, if you wanna stay safe. OR take a gamble, everyone has a choice.. want some E. Coli, H. Pylori or salmonella ? I sure don't.

Re: Anyone else switch to making kratom tea from toss/wash?
Hey, Kratom77, the first time that I used kratom as toss 'n wash, I had horrific gastrointestinal pains... for ten days! I thought I had contracted gastroenteritis. I took magnesium citrate (saline laxative) as a last-ditch effort to feel better after doing some research. I had bowel movements of green for three days. I don't think that was a coincidence. I started using tea, with no more pain and what I think may have been an intestinal blockage, and never looked back. I came up with some tea tutorials and have been experimenting with tea ever since. Here they are, if you'd like to check them out.

Re: Anyone else switch to making kratom tea from toss/wash?
I've been slowly moving from T&W to tea, too. I just started Kratom a month ago, so I'm still trying to figure out the difference with how my body reacts to tea vs T&W, and the difference in the effect of both.
I recently gave myself a 6g limit with T&W, usually 2.5 in the morning and 3.5 at night, but lately i've been making a batch of tea with 5g of powder and drinking it over the course of the evening. It usually comes out to 3 - 4 cups of tea over 5 hours. The effect I get from tea is more immediate, but I'm not sure it lasts as long. It's hard to tell when you drink a new cup every hour or two. I also use a metal coffee filter to strain the tea, so I don't ingest any of the plant matter. I'm guessing that has something to do with the shorter life of the effects, but I really don't know. I'm also wondering how using 5g of powder to make tea and then drinking it over several hours will effect my tolerance. I was thinking it would keep it lower than T&W, but I really have no idea.
If anyone has experience with tea vs T&W and how it effects tolerance, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'd also like to know if anyone has used crushed leaf vs Powder to make tea, and if there's a significant difference?

Coconut oil: https://imgur.com/a/FBbnd
Coconut oil has been tried . It gives kratom longer legs by the alkaloids binding to the lipids and burning slower. Someone turned me onto this and I tried it. The tutorial is short.

Been parachuting 6 years and counting. Pretty sure my body can run on just cellulose and monkey poop now. The e.coli is the source of my powers!

Re: Anyone else switch to making kratom tea from toss/wash?
I just made some tea this very morning. It had been a LONG time since I had took the time to brew up a nice dose. I had an ultra-sound scheduled for this morning so couldn't do my usual stir and chug and risk not having a clear view...(I have NO desire to do toss and wash personally)...It was nice for a change. But as nice as it was, I always feel like something is missing?...Just not the same as my whole leaf...But it is sort of fun to me, the whole brewing process...but wouldn't want to do it all the time...although it certainly has it's time and place for sure.

Drew is an amazing advocate and had a large presence on reddit before the kratompocalypse. He had a lot of comments on tea making and his method(s) were among the moist popular by karma and the number of people that commented and referred others to his posts on the subject. I always thought if I were going to try making tea I'd look up his tutorial.Kratom77 wrote: I found this youtube video was the most detailed and easy to follow on instructions on how to make it,
