Texas Kratom Consumer Protection Act - PUBLIC HEARING TOMORROW 3/31

Just stumbled on this bill while doing a search on Texas legislation. There has been no announcement from the AKA on this which I feel is suspicious. It was filed on January 13th, and the public hearing is tomorrow in Austin.

As a consumer who trust her vendors I think its a money grab from AKA.

There must be a lot I am missing here. Could you guys explain the suspicion and the AKA money grab?

It looks like its banning the sale to anyone under 18. And by setting low levels of 7-ohm they are prohibiting extracts. and the labeling requirements , which just looks like a recommended serving size.

There are probably political and and financial implications I am not aware of , but nothing is jumping out at me. It looks pretty benign at a first glance.

There's lots to discuss about this KCPA stuff - WHY it's needed. WHO is pushing these Bills. Who benefits ?? How it would affect vendors. Which vendors WIN, and which vendors could LOSE, or get put out of business.
