Weird clumps that don't break up even in hot water? (Hudson Valley Botanicals)

In the Red Maeng Da from Hudson Valley Botanicals I found that there were clumps which would not seem to break up even when mixed with hot water.

I could mix it into a cold drink and it was less noticeable, but clumps were there regardless.

I was able to choke it down in some hot chocolate, but it's disgusting.

Effects were the same as they had been from this vendor, consistent and sedating unlike some of the jittery "red" kratom which is bright green colored.

Main reason I order from here is the fact that a RED strain is actually RED colored, and this translates in my case to a more pain relieving and less stimulating experience.

I don't think it's mold, but I do think it's unpleasant to drink. Maybe an issue with however it was ground from leaves into powder?

Anyone else notice this? What should I do save for toss and wash or capsules?

Hmm i do notice once in a while clumps that dont break up, i think its all starts where they grind it and what machine they use, some can even do nano grind with newer machines. Also how long and tight it was in a bag before it got to you, maybe some sit for long time and became very hard clumpy, i usually do hot water and kratom first before doing honey, that way kratom breaks up very well on its own but if you do honey first it gets soaked into honey and clumps hide in it. If got coffee, add very little to remove that nasty taste. I dont think you can escape it and you will have batches like that once in a while. you could capsule it. Or do a fast shot glass with OJ or what ever you got to chase it down. If drink slow, it will annoy you and the taste will be hard to swallow. So trick is to do big gulps then chase with something, dont drag it out and drink one cup for 5 min, if can count to 5 seconds and gulp all down very fast. then chase it with water.

Best way i noticed, is take one huge gulp, chase it with what ever then repeat until cup is empty , bug gulp, chase it, then repeat until gone.

Moisture clumps. Kratom is compacted to ship in a smaller box. Compacting is also used to prevent air from entering the block of kratom an stopping the promotion of mold growth. (air and water needed for mold). Its very common and totally fine. If they are big chunks then that is not fine, but the small little clumps less then the size of a grain of rice are normal.
