Kratom Tea Questions

Does anyone have a good Kratom Tea recipe?
I've never been able to make Kratom Tea that tastes good enough to drink and enjoy it and I'm wanting to experiment with this method more.
What is the best way to make it? If I boil water then pour it over Kratom powder, how long should I let it sit for? Do you y'all strain the powder through a paper filter? What can be added to make it palatable? I usually just T&W because it's so bitter but I know there has to be someone out there who has actually made a decent tasting tea. Any help with details would be appreciated!

Brilliant, simple tutorials from an old member.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for posting. This post also confirms what I have heard other people say about not needing as much for a dose because the tea method pulls more alkaloids out. I've heard some people say that they cut their dose by 50%. Super simple and a very nice post. This is perfect.

Glad I could help. For me, tea mostly doesn't work. I've (and most others) have found that tea requires MORE kratom, some people even use 2x their powder dose. I learned reverse t&w and like it fine, though people do have a point about boiling water sanitizing the kratom. I try not to think about monkeys pooping on leaves drying out on a filthy blue tarp.
There is also 'red bubble tea,' which is adding a frozen overnight chill step in a mug and makes a pretty bubble on the surface. It gets more alkaloids out via cell lysis. Ask Ballz about it, he has a tutorial or could point you in the direction of some of his posts.

Interesting comment about the dose. I was curious myself if there was any truth to Kratom tea being stronger. I've heard of red bubble too. T&W seems to be the most common method and easiest. I am curious to try the tea and see if it's any good. Might try the red bubble thing too. Thanks again for the responses.

Yea the general consensus on strained tea is use more leaf. Up to 2 times more only if it's strained.

Aren't you in the kratom biz and should know this?

Re: tea that's "good enough to drink", if you truly hate the taste of kratom, I don't think there's any tea recipe that can change it because it'll always have that bitterness. I have kind of a long process for tea, but it works for me: I weigh out the desired amount of leaf, put it in the bottom of a cup. Capful of lemon juice on top, mix it up, let it sit and saturate for a few minutes until most of the powder is visibly wet. 190F water over the top, leave it to "steep" for an hour or so, come back and add some baking soda to neutralize the citric acid... let it continue to cool to room temperature, pop it in the freezer overnight. In the morning I take it out and either pop the red bubble "ice cube" into my coffee (which is hot and therefore melts it) or pop it in the blender with some fruit and yogurt for a smoothie.
It sounds more complicated than it is, but so does anything when you write out each and every step, especially when you're verbose like me.
Echoing the sentiment that you need more leaf for tea if you strain it. When I was straining mine through an Aeropress, I had to use 1.5-2x the amount of powder to get anything from it. The red bubble process allows me to use my normal dose, but I don't bother with straining anymore. (I'll take a somewhat-grainy cup of coffee over the naked taste of kratom any day - I tried to throw back my tea like a shot once and almost threw up. It REALLY does not agree with me taste-wise.)

Yes in the Kratom biz but don't know everything and haven't found a good Kratom tea recipe yet, hence the post. All the tea that I've tried is super bitter and too nasty to drink for me personally. The method you posted seems like it might work since it's blended with other tea which I do like the taste of.

Yeah, I've tried lots of methods and the bitterness is always there which is why T&W reigns king IMO.

No, No, No... exactly the opposite. As others have said... You need MORE kratom when brewing Tea...
not Less.
Those old "tutorials" from 4 years ago, are ridiculous ppl should stop sharing them.
Plain water, with no Acid ?? Using only
2.5 grams for 64 ounces Tea ??
So one Cup serving, would be .3 tenths of 1 gram ?? I mean... I've heard
Less Is More but his "tutorial" method is silly. Which many people have pointed out over the years... Kratom is a constant fight for Truth VS mis-information.
There are MUCH better "tutorials" on Tea making here on MM.... Use the Search Bar. Try a search on "Aeropress".

Really works. Like a million times better than pouring your Tea through a dirty sock!!

You have several very valid points; never noticed the amount of leaf to water was so small. Good to add the acid and use the aeropress. Thanks for bringing it up.

Indelible - this goes back several years, on Reddit with that "tutorial" you posted... the guy was BANNED, both here on MM, and on Reddit btw... Another well known guy Andrew Turner, had a kratom podcast:
Nerds Take On The World with a popular, YouTube video on Tea making... His YouTube thing was pretty good. He did soak kratom in acid, Lemon juice, for like 20 minutes before simmering another 20 min. Anyway not to rehash the whole story anyone can do their own Research.

.
Tea Recipe methods posted on MM, are better more detailed and more current... than any of these old BS recipes.
