anyone familiar with stuff to do in/around Colorado?
Planning a family trip next year, need ideas for stuff to do.
My sis, her hubs, and my nephew have lived there for years, and I've been there before, but my mom wants ideas to put an itinerary together.
I had wanted to do tank driving and gun shooting, but they're full up.
I've done one of the zoos, not really interested in them.
I've also been to Coors Brewery (I recommend it, it's a neat, short tour and you get tons of beer free at the end, including special brews you can't get outside the region).
The Church of Cannabis sounds neat, but I'd have to get smoked out, and I don't really like being stoned much, wouldn't want to do it in front of my nephew, lol.
Mahalo guys!

I used to live in Boulder, CO. You going to be around that area? I had a house up in the mountains about 15 min from the nearest anything. I miss it so much, it's so beautiful out there.

We could go to Boulder. I went there with my uncle and grandma way back when my sis graduated college in Colorado Springs, we got in the car, drove to Boulder, looked around, and drove back, lol.
What's there to do?

Rocky Mountain National Park is a treasure. I was in complete awe for hours. ( I was staying in Loveland, Colorado which is next to Fort Collins)

Thanks for the rec! My sis lives in Colorado Springs and they do a lot of nature-related activities. I'm sure she's been there and knows where the best spots are! Only thing is my dad can't walk far distances now, but he has a bunch of meetings, I'm sure we can schedule it in, even if only for a half day. Good, I'll tell sister to pick out a short route for us, it'll jog her memory, mahalo froggy!!

Yeah, not much to do in Boulder itself as far as tourist attractions lol. Was just curious if you'd be in the neighborhood. It's close to Denver, Red Rocks, Coors Brewery, etc so there are things to do that are not too far away. When I lived there with my fiancee in the early 2000s, it was a very chill and relaxed place. Just a sleepy town in the foothills. Not sure how it is these days.IndelibleDotInk wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 1:05 am We could go to Boulder. If you'll be in area and enjoy the great outdoors, it's worth it to drive a bit west to Nederland, CO. It's a small town and we used to go out there all the time to hike and such. It's insanely beautiful. One of my friends had a cabin out there.
Thinking about all this is making me miss Colorado and my younger carefree days.

Yeah, years ago I visited Coors. I was surprised how fast the tour was, and got pretty buzzed with all the free beer. And it was good beer, stuff that was regional.
Last time in CO I went to a mainly wolf sanctuary and also a Native American site which had been removed from another state and installed in Colorado.
My uncle took me and my grandma to Boulder, he was going on about how beautiful everything was as we drove. My grandma took a more pragmatic approach and said, "Beautiful, beautiful, how long gonna be beautiful?"
