Kratom and Chronic Constipation

Post by chadloveskratom »

Does anybody also have chronic constipation? I have had it since I was a baby. Kratom obviously makes this worse, but it isn't bad enough for me to stop taking it. I take kratom twice a day, for a total of about 13ish grams per day.

I've been taking kratom for like 7/8ish years now, and I'm just realizing that my constipation situation (sounds like a band name 8-)) has been getting worse the last 2 or 3 years; I have to take miralax every night or else I'm in for a really bad time. I've also started developing some other gastric issues so I should probably take care of my body.

I feel like taking miralax every day isn't ideal and who knows what it's doing to me, plus I'm only in my mid twenties. Basically I want to start trying other things to get my system moving, preferably lifestyle choices. I take the psyllium husk fiber stuff on and off, it used to help a decent amount but now it doesn't do much for me. I refuse to take stimulant laxitives. Exercise kind of helps. There have been times in life where I didn't have to take anything for a decent while so I have hope I can get there again lol.

Does anybody else go through this or does anybody have some diet/supplement recommendations? My diet is pretty bad, I eat the same thing every night for dinner and I consume a decent amount of sugar. I'm not looking for a quick fix, the last thing I need is to get physically dependent on another laxative. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Prune juice and magnesium glycinate (important that it’s glycinate and not one of the other forms). Trust me. Will keep you regular. If you’re still having issues try adding a bowl of oatmeal every day.

Work on your gut biome. Fermented foods/drinks, probiotics and prebiotics, beef bone broth (big for me), apple juice and apples. Magnesium. Get a blood panel done, if you’re deficient it can constipate. For example vitamin d deficiency will constipate. Kratom doesn’t help either. I would also work on lowering your dose roughly in half.

A magnesium supplement helps me. I use calm every night and by the morning, I'm good to go. I've also switched over to extracts, which has helped a lot.

I see a theme here! Magnesium glycinate is amazing for staying regular. I take some every single evening.

I drink a lot of coffee. A LOT. OF. COFFEE. I think you know what I am saying here: if I laugh really hard and fart, I check myself before I wreck myself. I am a dainty lady, after all. But seriously, I drink more than I eat: Kratom, coffee, and seltzer. Seltzer is as close as I get to water, and I push fluids so I don't get dehydrated from my two other dietary staples.

If you aren't a caffeine fool, I would drink water excessively. There is also this miracle gummy, and I know because my boo took it during chemo. The thing about chemo? No crapping. It is terrible. The only thing that works is this. That also goes for her oral chemo now. No crap. Unless this. I would recommend this to anyone before some of the more violent alternatives out there. Magnesium Citrate is straight from the anus of the devil. Anyway, THIS:

HUM Celery Juice Fiber Gummies The First Prebiotic Celery Juice Gummy, Supports Detoxification and A Daily Green Boost with Celery Juice, Chlorophyll, and Prebiotic Fiber (60-Count)

No shilling here. My boo is about to have surgery. Side effects? No crap. What is she going to take? This. To crap. It works despite chemo or pain pills or weird surgeries and I'm sure it can handle Kratom.

Or, you can be like me and have Adderrall and Espresso for breakfast, followed by a fast Red for chronic pain, but alas--not everyone is quite the shitblower as am I.

Stayin' classy over here.

I definitely recommend Mag 07 supplement. I’ve tried everything and this is the most consistent natural way I have found to help with constipation.

i take a mild stool softener every other day. Docusate Sodium
works great for me. Cause before kratom i did not have this problem. I hope it doesn’t mess me up from years of use.

on a positive note, kratom actually keeps me more regular, but in an over abundance kinda way so that’s why the stool softener. now i have it just where i want it.

I take a spoonful of fermented soybean, the Korean variety, every day, along with a probiotic from Now and Acacia fiber as a prebiotic. White kidney bean capsules (undigested carbs become fuel for good gut bacteria. I go extremely light on carbs but if eating cauliflower or other veggies I take a White Kidney Bean capsule) and Xylitol as a sweetener also act to produce an environment where healthy gut biome can thrive. Xylitol also acts to keep things moving in your gut, is healthy for your mouth and teeth, and has more benefits. I get a six pound bag of it delivered from Amazon using their subscribe and save to keep it affordable. It's not quite as sweet as sucrose, but a light teaspoon of it along with some stevia works well in my coffee or tea. It occurs naturally in fruit, it is a sugar, just one with a low glycemic index number, but mine is derived from birch, IIRC. I recently also started taking ClearLax, polyethylene glycol, and it has a positive effect. Docusate sodium can also be effective, and while safe it can make stools too loose if more than needed is taken.

I now take a magnesium blend, and I think it helps a bit while less effective than just magnesium citrate by itself. I don't take a lot of Kratom, but as I take it throughout the day, 500 milligrams at a time, it no doubt doesn't help in keeping things moving.
