How long have you stored kratom without losing potency?

I’m considering stocking up, buying a kilo every week for the next few months, or buying multiple keys when I find something I really like. So far I only have three kilos, in unopened original packaging, inside a ziplock freezer bag, in a dresser drawer in my basement where it is cool, dark, and dry.

I grew weed for years, and I have stored buds in mason jars with Bovida packs for three years with zero loss in flavor, freshness or potency so I’m hoping kratom can withstand the same test of time.

I’m wondering how long they’ll retain potency though, or if I’m stockpiling all this dank kratom which will degrade to garbage a year or two from now when I dig into it.

So what are your experiences with long term storage? What is the longest you’ve stored and how was potency affected? Color change? Flavor change?

I got pre-ban scare kratom from 2016, is as potent as ever. Plain closet from dollar general bin works great. Some who buried from old reddit, they open pack and put kratom in miller bags with oxygen packs inside and vacuum air seal them for freshness, put inside Coleman and bury it, for the dark days to come. Freezer is tricky, if done wrong it can go bad, but seen i see you have experience then you should be good. From 2016 kratom nothing was lost, same great classic kratom. Nothing to overthink about, pile it up in a bin, put in closet in darkest area and be happy you got your back up. Cant go wrong on it.

8 years, lol. Vaccume seal with oxygen absorbing packets. If you want to prevent color fade, throw them in a light proof bag like mylar. It will last forever!

I have 2+ year old kratom simply stored in freezer bags and shoved in a dresser drawer that is still as potent as the day I bought it. As long as you keep it air tight and dry, it should stay good for a very very long time.

I was storing mine in plastic bins,,but now I put what I use a lot in small air tight plastic containers, ,the rest I store in large 5 gallon metal containers,,in the original bags and zip locks,,they keep it cooler and dark,,,they are the kind with a lock clasp around the lid,,they are used by pharmaceutical packaging companies, the pills were in heavy bags, inside the containers, when I open it ,the bags are nice and cool,,,and the smell of tea,K, is very noticeable, ,
