Favorite movies theater and red box

Post by Oletimer »

I took my daughter to theater today for her bday, ,,,ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, ,worth the money, especially the luxury recliners, omg, anyhow Quentin Taratino, he is 1 of a kind, ,wild imagination, most of his movies, sure, they're off beat, but this one is my favorite, ,, I won't give away details, ,but if you like his movies, this won't disappoint,,the last movie I seen was US, don't watch that before going to bed, omg,, other than those 2 ,I'm going to go see LION KING, , my daughter did,,she seen it years ago,,,so this new version brought back good memories,I'll take my grandaughter, she's never been to a theater, ,she'll love that,,anyhow, any other movie buffs ? I don't go often, last time was 50 shades of gray,,grayer, and freed,,hahaha! Anyhow, what movies have ya movie buffs enjoyed this summer?

haha when I saw this Topic, movies in theater - I thought Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. now THAT, is one I plan on seeing in theater, maybe next week! And I don't do many theater movies any more (can't sit still for 2+ hours in stinky theater) .. For anyone who remembers 1969, the whole Charlie Manson drama, Spahn Ranch, did you notice Bruce Dern/ as George Spahn? Tarantino gets some great actors. Can't wait to see it. :geek:

A little late to the topic, but yes great movie , and love those seats, sometime last year my wife and I went to see John wick 3 and purchased the tickets online, when it was time to go she was feeling sick cause of chemo and didn’t want to change her pajamas and said we could catch it another day, well I told her I was going to change then , walk out the room with PJs and told her let’s go , it gave her a smile and we went ahead most comfy I’ve ever felt at a theater with them seats , now it’s the only way we go to a late feature lol

I guess I'm the outlier:

I gave up on theatres long ago. Too damn loud, rude people. Thanks to brilliant producers, directors and technicians I can have a brilliant movie/TV experience at home - which is preferable (and will be the inevitable future of viewing anyway, Thank You).

Tarantino? I confess that I loved Pulp Fiction but - personally - I can't stand any of his other products. Male viewers obviously adore his misogyny, incredibly casual (and absolutely gratuitous) violence and his insistence that literally stealing ideas (and calling them "homage") is OK.

His "characters" are nothing more than tired old stereotypes blown out into outrageous comic/grotesque proportions. His "themes" are -at best - just more primitive fare for the carefully polished juvenile.

That’s exactly the point though. Everything is supposed to be super exaggerated to ridiculous levels. It’s intentional by design. He always does a mix of grindhouse and exploitation.

Personally, I love Tarantino films, but I can see why others might not lol.

That it did it sucked pretty bad ,but the time I had with my wife was priceless at the time, I didn’t know if I would get that opportunity again, with that said I’ll have many more opportunities to see more shitty movies with a smile lol
