Herbal Salvation or elsewhere?

Hello everyone -- I'm a reddit refugee. Very glad to find this forum!

Just wondering if anyone here has ordered from HS since they recently changed suppliers. I was always very happy with the potency of their leaf and never had any problems with any of their batches. Now that they've changed suppliers, though, I'm a bit leery about ordering and wondering if the quality will be the same.

Has anyone here ordered from them since they changed suppliers?

I'd also love to hear from anyone who has been a fan of HS in the past who's found the same or better quality in another vendor. I really am feeling a need to expand my horizons and stock up with quality leaf but there are so many well-reviewed vendors out there that I don't know where to start.

I'm looking for mood lift/euphoria, energy and pain relief. I tend to like happy greens, faster reds and the occasional yellow. Whites usually make me too jittery. My favorite strains from HS before they changed suppliers were Green Bali, Green Malaysian, Red Thai, Yellow Vietnam, Green MD. I also loved the Red Kali and Bali x2 I got from DG last fall. Any suggestions on good substitutions (at HS or elsewhere) would really be great.

I have been wondering about the new HS supply myself! I have been using kratom regularly for about 6mo that give or take and the first month or two was all HS only.... My favs or Green Malay, Green Bali, Red Thai, Red sumatra, and Gold Bali. I had decided to try HerbalRVA after mostly all good reviews, amazing pricing, and huge selection. Awesome decision because I have since ordered multiple kilos from them and live just about every single thing I ha e gotten! It happened just at the right time cuz it's right about when HS went Out of Stock for a good length of time till now. If ya wanna try RVA I love the Royal Bentuangie, Red Borneo, Red Ketapang, Red Hulu, Wild Red, Green Hulu, Green Aceh, Green Vietnam, Super Green#2, and Gold Bali. I have been very eager to try both the Red and Greed Asia when they return as well. Any other questions or anything let me know.... Good luck. And please let me know if and when you hear anything about or try for yourself the new HS supply!!!

Thanks so much for your response. What you wrote is very helpful since several of your HS favorites have also been my favorites, and Herbal RVA is one of the vendors I've been considering ordering from. Since we apparently have similar taste it's good to know which RVA strains you've enjoyed. I did decide to go ahead and place an order with HS today in the hope that even with a new supplier they haven't abandoned their quality standards. It should be here in a few days and I'll let you know how I like the strains I ordered. Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my post -- much appreciated!

ETA: We really must have similar taste. I just saw another post of yours about your hit and miss experience with K-OG and my experience was the same. I was very surprised by that because I've read so many fantastic reviews about strains from them. I liked a few of their strains, but even those didn't seem to last very long for me. Such a fascinating plant -- individual chemistry has so much to do with the experience. It can be frustrating to try a strain so many people have raved about and have it be "meh." I'll be paying attention to any reviews you drop here now that I know we must have similar chemistry. Thanks again!

Yeah def seems we must have similar type body chemistry!! Any other vendor does you've tried or stuff you really like??? Just so ya know a good portion of the reds from RVA that I like are due to analgesia, euphoria, plus sedation.... And same goes for the HS Green Bali for the most part....

K-OG stocks more variety of leaf than any other US vendor. K-OG imports from 9 different Indo sources, 80+ strains, and several of those are exclusive.. He's on top of the business! He's on this board, and MeWe and Facebook talking to customers.

There's just no comparison with old, tired, out-of-date vendors with a history of poor Email response, never participate online, and won't update stock until it's too late... I ordered 5 diff strains from HS last Fall and they're all OK but just average quality imo - Several of the old vendors like Gaia, HS, SK, etc are being moved OFF the Vendor List - in favor of some newer guys who are trying harder!

With 200+ vendors out there, it's easy to keep a List - I've got Johnsons Botanicals, Kats Botanicals, Liza's, Stan David, Kraydo Organics, Okie Kratom, Precious Mitre, Seven Breezes, and Treasure House! lined up and pretty sure ALL of those would be better leaf, and better service than HS.

Of the ones you mentioned, I'm a big fan of K-OG (obviously, heh) and have gotten stellar service from Kraydo, including -unbelievably- fast shipping. He can't control the speed of USPS shipping, but he got it into their hands blindingly fast. I've also heard great reviews for Okie and will probably be trying them soon.

So just to clarify and keep it real... I by no means am shitting on KOG, whether service or product!! As MOB1982 an I both said it's crazy how this plant works, and totally depends on body chemistry. For whatever reason the her and I have the same chemistry apparently and we both feel the same way about KOG and just the way it it goes sometimes. Believe me, I wish that I did enjoy it and have better results, I was super stoked to try 10 different strains that sounded to be right up my alley as far as my daytime and nighttime needs/wants. But, for whatever reason I as well as MOB1982, just aren't compatible with it I guess. Oh well, just gotta learn what works for each of us or doesn't and adjust accordingly, right?! And while addressing this subject, I'd like to also say to you ballzdeep and whiffy, that I have appreciate all of your inputs and help both with me personally and as a whole here and on multiple subs elsewhere. You guys are awesome and super knowledgeable as I am trying to grow to be. This plant has saved my life in some ways, and at very least changed my life in many others!!! I am learning more and more about it everyday through personal experience, reviews, posts, and articles on the subject. All in all, just have to stop and remember to appreciate this plant for all it's worth, even in the mystery of it all at times.

What I wrote wasn't to disparage K-OG in any way. Judging from the reviews I've read, tons of people think their quality is top notch (which is why I ordered from them in the first place). I mentioned my experience only to illustrate that even strains from a vendor known to have great quality can sometimes be "meh" for the odd individual once personal chemistry enters into it.

As for my original post, I certainly wasn't saying that no other vendors have leaf as potent as HS. Your vendor list has been very helpful to me in narrowing down the key players and I'm sure lots of them have kratom as good as or better than what I was buying from HS. I was just using HS as a kind of benchmark, hoping someone else out there would like the same strains from them that I did and be able to tell me which other vendors they'd found to have comparable (or even better) strains as far as potency, which acejestyr was kind enough to do. Thanks for your input too, and for all the work you do directing us to the best vendors! I was very relieved to find this board after Reddit went south.

So I just wanted to throw my 2-cents in...I'm in the same boat as you guys with HS being my main source and was happy with my results until recently and then obviously they went OOS. So I came here and using the vendor list have found a couple fantastic vendors and when I have the money and time will check out some more. Thanks to this wonderful place I got some top notch leaf which is consistent and superior to the couple vendors I "grew up" on. I have only had a couple of K-OG strains, and half were great and the others did nothing special so I know where you are coming from with that, and thats not saying anything bad about them, Harry is simply awesome no doubt. Have a great freaking day, time to burn some Phatcracker....

Yes indeed they are, and yes it sure is!

For anyone else following this thread, I just received my order from HS today. Haven't had time to try any of the "new supplier" strains yet (well, except for the spoonful of green Malay I couldn't resist tossing down as soon as I opened the package, and I don't want to judge potency based on a redose), but once I do I'll let everyone know how they compare to the older batches.
