Oven Thermometer

Post by Greyfeather »

Hey folks with ovens who cook!

My guy and I haven't used the oven in our rental ONCE since moving in. I'm not very impressed (especially since the handle broke off). It wasn't spotless either, so I'm a little bit wary of cooking with it.

More specifially, I'm afraid to put any cannabis in it (for decarboxylation), because I finally decided to thow caution (and my Puritanical upbringing) to the winds and go buy some legal pot. I'm going to go buy weed! After three decades Imma eat some damn weed!

Can anyone recommend a good Oven Thermometer so that I don't burn up $150 that I could have used for groceries?

Thanks ;)

I just use one of these. Haven't destroyed any weed yet!

eta: Not this exact one, just one similar. If you're worried, just set the over temperature 10 degrees lower than what the thermometer says. If thermometer says 245 (that's what I decarb at), set it so thermometer says 235. I can kind of tell when the weed is done by the color and scent. But I do this yearly and I make big batches for my topical pain rub.

Thank you HH!

That is exxactly the one I was looking at :)

Wow, I wish had your experience. I did not know that your pain rub actually has THC. That's mighty impressive, and I'm very tempted (but surely it has to be pricey?). The CBD oil they sell around here is just ridiculously costly - like $150 for a few ounces and EVERYONE is hawking it (saw some at the video store).

Anyway, thanks so much. I'm going to make traditional Firecrackers :D

Yes, full spectrum with some extra added high CBD bud.

CBD topicals are ridiculously, outrageously expensive. Not worth it imho.

edit: The balm I advertised on here does not have cannabis in it, it's not exactly legal to sell that. :?

I use this one, for the exact same thing. It works very well. If you'd like any pointers on how to go about using it/setting it up in the oven, I'm happy to help!
