Are you saying you couldn't order from SOSA for some reason? I have yet to find reds that are as good as SOSA, with the exception of TFH 30 year wild red IR3.

Oh for fuck's sake! Well I hope everything's ok with them, maybe this is temporary like the previous setbacks, but for some reason I have a bad feeling about this one. Those reds are too damn good to go away. Even his greens are exceptional. Smiley Time Herbal has a Baik Bali that's pretty damn good, but it ain't SOSA. I've seen Liza's reds mentioned a few times, and maybe Mitraman. Fused Flora has some nice ones but a lot of his are fermented. If you find anything please let me know if you don't mind, and I'll do the same. Good hunting, godspeed.

Next to TFH, Liza's reds are exceptional. You will not be disappointed. She has a 4 oz. Sampler Pack for $18 + $8 shipping. That is a DEAL these days. Most vendors charge $18 for 100 grams. At least you get 120 with this deal. Few vendors are even offering samplers.

If you are looking for sleepy sedation her Red Borneo should do the trick. Sedation and pain relief - Red Bali, Red Thai, Red Pucuk (the Pucuk was a 1 oz freebie and it ROCKED). Check out her full menu and read the reviews. I have found them pretty accurate so far. Good luck!

I'm worried too because I love his leaf and he's a great guy. The economy is a right mess at the moment, though. Unless you are Bill Gates. Jeff Bezos, the Red-Headed twat from facebook or a banker, you are going to feel it

At the same time, I would really prefer NOT to read any 'theories' regarding SOSA's situation - because they are only theories until he speaks up himself. I mean, if you have a direct experience with him lately and want to share? There are always two sides to every story. Gossip has its place, I guess; but it has destroyed lives and livelihoods.

Fused Flora has some good heavy reds, I know his red Maengda, red Bali and red Banjar are very good also when they are available his Wild red Kapuas and red Takengon are very strong...
Benni had some good reds as well the last time I ordered from him....

That's exactly what I was saying.... Have a couple theories but they are only theories currently. So, until I personally correspond with Ben@SOSA then I think we should all sit tight and wait to see what the story is here. I totally agree so thanks for that clarification Greyfeather

Fused has a lot of non-fermented... search 'speciosa' on his site.

Even though old, dried up kratom can still be fire, I do enjoy new, delicious kratom much more, and Fused is always freeeeesssssshhhhhh! I can't speak for him, but you could ask Shaun for small samples, wouldn't hurt to try.

He gave me some samples half a year ago and the experience stuck with me enough to keep thinking about it while I dug into the good kratom I already had... Just recently able to place an order with him and not disappointed!

Buyers don't like that since we have all been kinda spoiled by Amazon and their fast, free shipping. The Postal Service is claiming that they are in the red but I don't know how that's possible seeing that they are currently participating in most of the retail business right now.

Concerning kratom vendors, I don't know of many that promise free shipping any more. The vendor's list here at MM features two or three? But then I don't experiment much anymore. I read as many recommendations and reviews as I can find and then order 250g or more (with splits) since usually you save money if you buy more. Also, the approved vendors here really do keep their prices reasonable as compared to some we know who will charge upwards of $200 and more for a kilo. Yeah, THEY should certainly be shipping free. There are quite a few who are selling at a discount right now and offering special deals - owing to the crunch so many of us are experiencing. If you spend $48 at Fused Flora you'll get free shipping (and that's for a split half kilo). But Zeedra, if you are being asked to pay shipping TWICE that sounds kinda fishy and maybe give 'em the old heave ho And of course, there's always the Trading Post where, I assume, good old haggling can get you some sweet deals for smaller amounts.

oh no, they're not outright asking to pay shipping twice. i'm more referring to the vendors (i don't want to name names but many of the top vendors around here do this) that claim free shipping, but in reality the price of the kratom has shipping costs factored in to match market prices. for instance, 18 dollars for 100 grams, where comparative prices at ot her vendors that calculate shipping after you've selected your strains would be 12 dollars for 100 grams +between 6 and 8 bucks for shipping. the second option is actually better, imo, because you can add some more kratom to your order and then pay for shipping versus buying 2 100gram orders of kratom from the vendor with "free" shipping, in which case you're essentially paying shipping twice. my real gripe is not being able to get smaller amounts to try before i buy without overpaying. there are some exceptions, like sosa, or liza's apparently*. i hope that made sense. to be fair, i haven't used *too* many vendors that aren't frequently mentioned here so maybe my perception of how many vendors actually do this is skewed.

*also, would you say that liza has fresh, green reds or do they tend to be fermented or on the darker side? that sampler price is very fair and i'm desperate to find a consistent red vendor. i've never tried sosa, i hope to in the future, but if liza's in generally agreed upon as having great reds i may give it a go.

Ah, sorry. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention. Yes, any seller who claims "free shipping" is bound to build that cost into the final price. Unfortunately there is no such thing as free shipping (god I WISH THERE WERE!) Someone has to pay and it ain't gonna be the seller. Now if they offer free returns, that's something else entirely. The seller is going to lose money. As someone who doesn't even have a proper "store" on ebay, I don't know how sellers manage that Large companies have ways of offsetting that loss.

So, I agree with you on that point. Even though it all comes out the same, I'd rather just be told that I'm being charged for shipping. At least that way I know what the vendor's actual price point is.

I have not had that problem with Liza's leaf. I can absolutely tell one from another. If you want a red with a bit of energy I would recommend her Red Maeng Da. She sent me a sample called Green Bent - I would consider that a slow green (probably fermented). I'm sorry, I haven't tried another of her greens.
She has such a wide selection that if you send her an e-mail and tell her what you would like, she will absolutely help you out (far better than I could )

Oops, that one went over my head too. I don't recall ever having gotten anything from Liza that was "brown/red." But I could very well be mistaken. Again, I would just e-mail and ask her first. She is happy to take the time and wonderfully transparent about her products. From my limited experience with bents, yes, I have seen a few that are not green. They don't do anything for me either.
ETA: I am looking at her menu page right now and I see a picture of a strain called "Royal Bent." It certainly does look brown. A lot of her pics have a sort of "brownish' cast to them. I think that's just weird lighting. Everything from the Bali to the Pucuk to the Thai, the Dayak, Malay, Sumatra, Sunda etc., etc. are all assuredly Green
