Help with quotes, please!

Post by Supersonic75 »

Hi- Is there anywhere on MM that explains how to do a “quote” from somebody else in a thread so that it can be isolated and responded to? I hope that description makes sense.

I basically have zero experience with these types of sites (except for reddit which I’d only joined a little while back, also for Kratom info) and don’t use any social media at all (I’m 59 y/o and find most SM kinda terrifying:-)). And I don’t want to ask my kids because I know it will lead to a “hmmmmm what kinda herbals we talking about here, dad? :D

At any rate, if someone has a minute to either explain or point me somewhere where I can figure it out from instructions, I’d greatly appreciate it! Thank you.....

Thanks so much; I do actually! (I was just about to delete that second post about having figured it out...I didn't!). I tried a little while ago and it worked, but when I tried a second time and attempted to just use a small section of the post I was replying to, I messed the whole thing up....the formatting and the other poster's name just dropped out and it looked like I'd written the whole thing.

Any guidance is appreciated; thank you again!

You can click on 'Quote' at the top right, then go through and back out anything you don't want. Just be sure that

[/quote]

is still at the end of what you want to quote. If it's not there, it will end up looking like you wrote it.

I know how to do these things, I'm horrible at explaining them.
