Kratom and my condition

Post by Cbest011 »

Hey gang, I was born with a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia. My adrenal glands don’t produce cortisol and I don’t retain salt well. Anyways I had blood work done last Saturday, which is the first time I’ve had labs drawn since starting Kratom. I started back in February with the Kratom. But I have a few things they test for, The important one is 17-hydroxyprogesterone and DHEA sulfate. Usually my levels are high and that’s how I’ve always ran it because with my condition, it can fuck with hormones and stress etc. but after my labs on Saturday, my levels were low! That’s not what I want.

Physically I feel fine, it’s normal to have lower numbers, that’s the goal, but as a female it can cause me to have acne, hair loss and be more anxious. So I was curious if anyone here has congenital adrenal hyperplasia or knows anyone who does. I personally have never met anybody with it. It’s a more rare condition. I’m tapering my Kratom extremely since learning that and may just quit all together. Or find a nice balance! Alright, just wanted to share. I am a recovering addict and my opiate addiction never fucked with my levels so that’s why I’m thinking my excessive Kratom use is affecting me. I can over indulge with it. Or since I’m 30, it could just be my growing body hahah, hormones changing etc.

Thanks!

Have you ever thought of taking pregnenolone? Its the grandmother hormone and can convert to whatever hormone your body needs.at the time(cortisol, testosterone, dhea, progresterone, estrogen). I take it everyday

I haven’t heard of that butters, I take prednisone and fludrocortisone. When I was a kid, I took hydrocortisone. I’ll look into that and see what it all does. The medications I take don’t affect me negatively the way steroids do other people. Since I need what it gives, I’ve always been healthy.

Thanks for the reply and I’ll look that one up!

You mentioned your 'excessive kratom usage' and that is something I would be mindful of. If you have a history of addiction, that could be at play here, only this time, with excess kratom use. Since the lab results were not favorable, I would start a reasonable tapering schedule and cut your use way down, then get another round of bloodwork. If the problem goes away, you might have discovered the amount you can take to truly be healthy. If it doesn't, take a t-break and get more bloodwork, in the event something else is going on to skew the results of your labs. This is important stuff here.
