Such an incredible forum

Post by Monkeygonetoheaven »

I have learned so much thanks to this forum! Kinda makes me feel like I’m doing certain things wrong, but I’m thankful for all the knowledge. I have been using capsules for the past year and was able to get off of adderall all thanks to kratom. I am going to make the switch to powder after all my reading on here. I really wan to try TFH. Until I am able to I am curious to try some other good vendors. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated, and also tips on dosing since this will all be new switching to powder :)

After almost 8 years I’ve perfected reverse toss and wash. I feel it’s the quickest, easiest, and most pain free way to dose. Use a regular open ended spoon not a measuring spoon. Weigh out your dose, put liquid of choice in your mouth, while holding said liquid in your mouth tilt your head back and put the powder on top of the liquid. Keep head tilted back and swallow. The liquid acts as a vessel and the powder sits on top of it and goes right down without getting stuck in your throat as long as you do it correctly. It will take some time to perfect but once you do it’s a game changer. Can also add powder to water or OJ, shake or stir then shoot it down.

Ryan's right! I use a small condiment cup to weigh the leaf and then fill mouth with a big sip of liquid, tilt head back, open mouth, pour leaf on top, swallow with head still tilted up. Easily take 2.5g to 3.5g. If you need a larger dose repeat or use an oblate (blatepapes.com).

I put my dose in a small glass (8 oz? stir it up and let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes while I do something else. Then I mix it real well with a spoon and gulp it down like a shot. It's the same thing I used to do with ground up pod powder back in the day. It's pretty crude I guess, but it works for me. I've tried the toss and wash and I cant do it. - I have a 16 oz coffee mug that I put a couple doses in with clean water that I take to work. If I am feeling like another burn I just shake it up and drink half of it. Usually I do one half later in the morning and if I take the other half it's late afternoon, usually on days that I end up working late. I'm still experimenting with the red bubble method, but the results are inconclusive for me. I keep putting a couple in the freezer and forgetting about it and then I can't remember which strain I put in there. my organizational skills need some work .

I have ordered from Lucky ,sMiley time and Benni in the last couple months and can recommend all three for quality leaf, fast shipping, and not messing around professionalism .

Yuck, pods. I do remember the specific taste they had though. One of the ways I could always tell a batch of seeds was potent was they had the same taste. Enter my 6 year addiction to that shit.
I used to mix powder into OJ at first but that just got sickening as I'd have to use 10g-15g back then per dose because good Kratom was hard to find and absolute crap was everywhere. So I learned to T&W 10g at once in a condiment cup. I didn't know the way I did it was called reverse toss n' wash. I just always did it that way. Could not do 10g at once anymore but I haven't used anything but this method since my very early days. The oblate plates are something I wanna try. As well as perfect a tea method. I want to try this red bubble method I've heard about, too.

It was dried up poppy pods from the Papaver Somniferum species. What all pain killers are derived from, just in case you didn't know. From what I could tell they were covered in the milk from fresh poppy pods that were cut open to obtain Opium. At least according to my layman knowledge.
They were sold online as "Decorations" or some such nonsense. You used to be able to get them very cheaply but the price skyrocketed at one point due to some fields in OK being burned by the DEA. So I heard anyway. And after that, I was never able to Papaver poppy pods again. Just rip offs. That's when I found Kratom. You would grind the pods up into a coffee grinder then make a slurry with OJ or some such thing. And you'd drink it all down. Very similar to traditional Opium in feeling. Nothing like Kratom at all and just as addictive as any other opiate if not more so.

Something like this?

https://www.driedpods.com/

Or this?

https://www.amazon.com/Mammoth-Poppy-Pa ... 02&sr=8-41

Are all of the 1 star reviews at the bottom of the Amazon page mistaken grandmas? They paid the price and are disappointed that the seeds didn't sprout? I am in a new rabbit hole, thanks.

I viewed them as harm reduction in the beginning because at least I wasn't using needles. But in the long run getting strung out on any opiate is all the same story .

I've thought a lot about the difference between my life then and now, because on the one hand someone could say "Hey thats just different colored powder you're gulping down , what's the difference? . There are a lot of differences but one of the main ones for me is just my general approach to life . The pods were an anesthesia to cope. Like it made going to the same shitty job year after year tolerable, but with no real motivation to change my situation . I remember it as a state of limbo interspersed with hellish withdrawals.. If I hadn't got off of them I would probably still be at that job. My life now doesn't feel anything like that . If I don't like some aspect of my life I make a plan and take steps to change it . I can actually make a goal and carry it through to completion. It's the best feeling. I went through a lot of years feeling like I was just treading water.

Is using oblate papes a good method or is reverse toss and wash better? My only concern with either is being able to do either at work. Thankfully I got some teablets from sacred son for work :)

Could be a lot of reasons. It's interesting to know about but I'm not going to send anybody further down that hole. It's a much different world than Kratom and was a big part of why I wasted my 20's. I'd stay away. It took me 3 years to get back to being able to use Kratom after I started. Pods and seeds will definitely ruin Kratom for you.

I viewed them as harm reduction in the beginning because at least I wasn't using needles. But in the long run getting strung out on any opiate is all the same story . I didn't waste time with the seeds - I poured those in a jar and planted them around town , I still have a couple pounds of seeds that I saved from pouring them out when I ground up the pod . In the rural farm area where I lived I found enough growing in peoples fields and yards to get them for free in the summer . and then ordered online in the winter . I am so glad to be done with all that . It truly truly sucks.

I've thought a lot about the difference between my life then and now, because on the one hand someone could say "Hey thats just different colored powder you're gulping down , what's the difference? . DittonW, yes it does suck. I am so happy you are doing better now my friend. Kratom simply doesn't have the same pull that opiates have. And has a limit to what you can take before it's just getting you sick. I was in the same boat as you. I was able to quit every thing but alcohol 3 years ago. Then the alcohol took over my life and now my liver is in danger, my kidneys are too and my hips are collapsing all due to my massive consumption of alcohol. Kratom is helping me stay off for sure. I haven't had this kind of energy and motivation since my early twenties. When I was still using Kratom right before I started using seeds. I am very glad that you're doing so much better.

And yeah, I'm not going to say anymore about pods either. This forum isn't for that.

The plates seem like they'd be a great method to use at work. I've done T&W at work before and it is not pretty.

Yeah I sure have learned alot myself about kruh-tom... it's a very mysterious plant that lots of folks on here are trying to solve and figure out with advice that we all have benefited from and it seems to be getting more popular in my state when i started taking kratom a year ago it was unheard of for the most part, especially in my town and I feel like such a genius being able to explain the basics to some of the people in my town.. they think im some kind of expert thanks to this forum it started out with one smoke shop only last year that sold trash leaf, now it's everywhere and so many places carry it around town.i just like helping the people i know out with finding good quality like is discussed and found in here.i also blow my own mind sometimes by thinking about how I discovered kratom and how im so fascinated by it trying to figure out the science behind it.ive done many substances in my life some natural and some man-made but never have I ran up on anything else that so many on this forum and others know about..i was never interested in brain receptors, alkaloids or what this or that had in it i only done other things to feel better and escape my mind with kratom it's so much more so I definitely want to thank everyone on this forum for being such great teacher's..

I have been taking my first dose in the morning with coffee which definitely helps. I am curious to try other supplements to help boost the effects of kratom. How do you use the plates?

They are called Oblates and they are thin potato starch pouches or circular discs. You fill them with powder. Some people dip them in water then swallow them. I don’t want to go to that trouble so I reverse toss and wash. I put water in my mouth, put sealed pouch in my mouth, hold it for 2 seconds, then swallow. Once wet they are very slippery ( always makes me think of swallowing goldfish lol ). But don’t hold it in your mouth too long as it’ll dissolve and then you’ll have a mouthful of powder. Blate papes make the best discs by far. I hate that they don’t make pouches but their discs are excellent. Good luck

I've found that, hands down, the best way to consume kratom if I'm not making tea is:

One baby food jar
Kratom
Fill jar 2/3rds with warm water, not hot
Add honey to suit your personal taste
Shake well
DTH

If I'm not making tea, it's the baby food jar method...been doing it for 12 years.
Easy breezy, nice 'n easy! 8-)

When I was still working I took kratom during the day & it wasn't any problem. A small amount of hot water or coffee in a mug, your 2-3g powder, a tsp of powdered hazelnut creamer, stir, chug. No coughing. No getting an oblate disk stuck in your throat & gagging, no prying questions from co-workers. My son dumps his powder into a plastic bottle of water, shakes it up, & puts it into his cooler at work. He chugs on it during the day & nobody asks questions.

Definitely reverse T&W as previously mentioned. Crystal light iced tea works amazing to tame the taste. I use a little flexible plastic med cup, weigh it out. Make a pond in your mouth, dump it on top and add more iced tea, then immediately swallow. The whole powder pile goes right down without any sticking to the roof or back of your mouth/throat. Probably not suitable for any more than about 3g at a time, though

The cure to never having to taste kratom (or much of anything else) is a mild case of Covid. I haven't tasted kratom for over a month now. :?
