I just completed a two day break and it had been a lengthy amount of time since I had taken any time off. Went cold turkey which I can usually handle apart from one thing... the restlessness when I try to sleep. I know the ultimate answer to WD symptoms is to reduce intake gradually, and I take about 5-7g 2x a day, so its not like I'm downing keys each week. But CT is my go to strategy for a quick rebound. I'm not interested in taking any prescription drugs to treat this either. But man oh man, even my dog who sleeps on my bed gets up and leaves because of the constant moving and a shakin
I would love to take more frequent breaks of one-two days cold turkey at a time. I've tirelessly searched the forums for what is called something like the "Ballzdeep 48 hour T break" or something similar. Anybody have a technique they use that they would like to share for a quick CT break?
(I know tolerance/breaks/resets blah blah blah is a tired subject on here so I apologize in advance)

low dose of hirsuta.
Not a bad idea. However I feel like taking Hirsuta negates the results of a cold turkey break. In the past I have taken breaks and swapped Hirsuta in place of my K, and after a few days switching back it feels like nothings changed. Versus a few days with no plants and effects are heavily restored. I know the relationship between Hirsuta and Speciosa so I know I shouldn't expect magic but this could be my best bet.

Take a non-psychoactive sized dose for several days before bed.
I get RLS frequently, and kratom makes it disappear; just hate 'wasting' a dose while I sleep.
Or just take a smaller dose of a red batch right before bed to ward off the restlessness. Like maybe half of what you'd usually take. Not enough to feel it but enough to stop any WD symptoms. IMO & IME it is way better to do this and get a solid night of sleep rather than suffer thru some a bad nights of sleep & feel bad the next day.
Check out MBC Botanicals. They sell a Daytime and a Nighttime Reset Pack. The daytime has Hirsuta, Javanica, & 20:1 Akuamma Seed Extract. Nighttime has the same plus Blue Lotus. The daytime is on sale and they have coupon codes in the vendor section on here.
I just just received mine yesterday so I can’t say how well it works - yet. I’ll be doing my reset this weekend.

You can get the 'suta, javanica, akuamma, and blue lotus from Shaun @ Fused Flora.
I take it every day during allergy season anyway, but a great side effect is it makes me sleep like a rock. I take 50mg at night, about 2 hours before I'm ready to sleep. It might kick in quicker for some people, but for me I find 2 hours is when the drowsiness sets in.
I know there a studies saying it's not good to take long term, etc etc. It's always mentioned whenever I bring up I take benadryl every day (I have terrible allergies and the other OTC stuff doesn't work for me). But if you're only going to be taking it for 2-3 days for sleep purposes, you'll be fine.
Take a non-psychoactive sized dose for several days before bed.
What's a non psycho dose? Like half a gram or something? I agree that I would hate to keep my tolerance flame lit, but if it helps calm me down and not make my wife think I'm possessed than it should work.

Ironically I have bought that same reset pack before from MBC based on recommendations. While it has been effective in a sense of like a below average quality leaf, it definitely keeps all break symptoms in check. Obviously I would not expect it to like blow my socks off or have similar effects of regular K doses, but I also did not use it strictly and played around with both day/night packs sporadically.

Good suggestion, thank you! I've taken other OTC sleep meds before in the past but there is something with Benadryl/antihistamines that gives you that whole body sleepiness, and its heavy.
Isn't there some sort of negative reaction with mixing this with kratom? I don't mean at the same time but having within the same day or periods?
I never thought it necessary to spend good money on “reset packs” when I’m sitting on bags and bags of bunk leaf. A gram or two of junk seems to be just enough to keep t break restlessness at bay, and I utilize leaf I would otherwise never have opened again.

I don't believe there are any negative reactions involving diphenhydramine hydrochloride and kratom, either taken together nor within the same day. I mix the 2 every night and I'm perfectly fine. Maybe extra drowsiness will be a side effect, but as far as actual dangerous interactions, there are none that I'm aware of. Keep in mind, I'm not a doctor or a chemist though. This is just from my own experience.

.25 to .5g, maybe up to 1g if you are a medium to heavy doser... just like finding your k sweet spot for a batch, ya gotta find it just enough to take the edge off, (will vary with batch), lol.

Did you complete the reset? How'd it go?
I’ve been taking weekends and Wednesday’s off and the reset packs are making it really easy. I’ve not had any WD’s at all. Maybe I’ll try a week off here pretty soon.
I’ve gone cold turkey in the past and the restless legs at night were awful. I figured out that by taking 1g I was able to stop the tossing and turning and get some sleep.
Cold turkey is literally the way I always go! I find my reset much more effective that way. Only WDs I get are achy legs and a tad but if insomnia. Best solution for me is valerian root! Open up 5 capsules into a Blate Pape, and drink with a little warm water and you'll be off to sleep in no time.

Good to know.
I’m curious…why open the capsules instead of just taking them as is?

Some people don't digest them well. If I cap kratom, I don't get a burn; assuming same happens with some meds.

Benadryl is the exact opposite of what you want to take, it makes Restless Leg Syndrome 1000x worse when detoxing. Gabapentin/Lyrica is the absolute best thing to take imo but requires a prescription but I would also assume Kava Kava would work great in it's place. Otherwise taking Valerian root, magnesium, and epsom salt baths work very well for the RLS and trouble sleeping stuff.
I know you said you weren't interested in prescription drugs OP, but since mitragy9 mentioned it above, I have to second the suggestion for gabapentin. I myself don't have RLS issues but a very close friend has such severe RLS that she's worn through several sets of sheets from how much she moves her legs and feet during the night. Since starting gabapentin she barely moves at night now. Obviously YMMV, but if your RLS is really disruptive it might help you.
When I lay down for the night I use this time for breath meditation. Typically I'm probably out in 10-15 minutes, but on my restless nights I can get a couple hours( bonus). Meditation has become an important part of my life and this is what I've recommended to anyone that asks about it.

I recently quit using THC and had a real hard time sleeping. I found that my magnesium citrate has been helping me get a good night's sleep.
If you like magnesium try a epsom salt bath it works fantastic for trouble sleeping and restless legs type symptoms. I believe topical magnesium is one of the most effective ROAs for magnesium absorption it's also very relaxing.

I'll third that suggestion - Gabapentin is a valuable tool to have for kratomites... For me, Half of a 600 mg tablet, does the job. so, 300 mg... Recently I wanted to lower tolerance so, started a 5 day Agmatine cycle - that first night taking 1 gram Agmatine sulfate before bed, caused me to have RLS! - Anyone should be able to request a Gabapentin Rx from their doctor, as sleep aid & for anxiety. It's a common medication, considered "non narcotic", gives a kind of dizzy tired effect... Great combo with Valerian root for sleep!! Note IF your doctor's a hard-ass or for whatever reason you can't get Rx,.. Gabapentin can be ordered legally from online pharmacy such as ADC.

Thankyou mitragy9! I might give that a shot. Should I skip the night time mag in that case.
