Weird Question…?
Ok everyone, I’m looking for some advice/ideas on something that’s been driving me crazy. I live in a park in a set of four townhouses. My landlord moved into the one right next to me a few years ago, when him and his wife sold their house. Long story short, he set up Tomcat poison box outside of my garage( he says to keep mice out which aren’t an issue as far as I’ve noticed). The thing that bothers me is the squirrels, chipmunks, and thirteen line ground squirrels are the ones eating the poison in the box. Any ideas how I can keep them away from it? My landlord and I aren’t the best of friends already otherwise I would just throw it away! I can up load a picture if that will help, it’s the black plastic box with holes in both sides. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Empty the traps (wear gloves!), put the empty traps back while saying nothing.

At my house the bird feeders keep the squirrels busy, maybe if you kept a stocked bird feeder the squirrels won't bother with the poison. I put out leftovers for the critters and I notice when the feeder had seed in it they don't typically touch the food.

this has my full approval . practical Taoism at it's best . you could even put something in it that looks like the poison and empty it once in awhile so he doesn't get suspicious .PistolsAtDawn wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 8:48 am Empty the traps (wear gloves!), put the empty traps back while saying nothing.
I don't mean to hijack the thread but since it's off topic anyway. I was foolishly made foreman of a cell tower crew a number of years ago and we got sent to Milwaukee in the middle of the winter to survey these AT&T towers that American Tower was purchasing . The first question on the 30 page sheet was 1. is the tower safe to climb? And if you said NO then about 3/4ths of the rest of the survey was obliterated because the rest of the questions involved climbing the tower, taking pictures etc. This cut into the companies bottom line because it was only partial pay for partial surveys.
So - I went to this mono pole on the first day and climbed up about 20 feet and noticed that there were 4 or 5 inches of ice on the climbing pegs so I carefully climbed back down and marked ; NO - tower not safe to climb, too much ice on pegs. very dangerous .
The boss called me the next day, from Provo Utah , and said "Why don't you send the Mexicans over and see if they will climb it ?" A statement that is loaded with subterfuge, insults , and careless disregard on many different levels and directions.
So I called him back the next day and said "The Mexicans won't climb it either" , after not even bringing it up with the the "Mexicans".( They were Peruvians anyway , and nfw am I sending my guys to do something I won't do )
We called it practical Taoist middle management . What the asshole in Utah doesn't know won't hurt him , but following his instructions explicitly could , and eventually did, get someone killed.
