Re: Green reds or dark reds?
My perfect red is dark, fermented, and with a fruity aroma. Each batch is different, of course. I go for the dry season ones usually. Something to do with higher mitragynine to convert to 7-ohm. Just a theory.

Interesting. So dry season would be in the summer? Is your Royal Bentley your favorite? I have to say red bali is my favorite from you.LuckyHerbals wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:23 am My perfect red is dark, fermented, and with a fruity aroma. Each batch is different, of course. Re: Green reds or dark reds?
Reds seem more miss than hit for me personally. And I have no idea what makes a good red. 2 of the best reds I've had were from Dennete though, the much talked about B32, and one called 'strong bali'. They both seem a bit more relaxing than any white or green. I also had a good plain old 'red bali' from Benni's that was great in that way, to just chill out and halfway relax in the evening. I gotta add though, some of that effect may very well be placebo, like a psychosomatic thing - because I expect a red to be that way, that is the only part of it's effect that I notice. Who knows. *shrug*

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
IDK if it’s just me but I’ve tried quite a few reds so far fermented/oxidized and green reds. I can’t seem to feel much of anything. Maybe it’s because I’m taking such a small dose of only 2g, but I feel the greens and whites great at that dose. I’m scared if I up the doses on just reds it will mess up my tolerance to the others. Am I crazy thinking this way?

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
Green reds for sure for me, though I have enjoyed a couple sun kissed batches, and I do occasionally use a little bit of a bent if a batch is a little too stimulating and I've taken it close to bedtime. The perfect red for me is very sedating and warm, but with a ton of uplift, very hard to find, but they do pop up here and there. This is why I loved SOSA reds so much, very heavy effects but incredibly uplifting at the same time. TFH has delivered with some batches that meet these characteristics like Baik Bali Especial, Red Elephant Kali (2020 and 2021) and Red Hangat Indo just to name a few. I also just tried a tester of the new Premium Red Horn (A supplier) from Rhino's that also has these qualities, though it was just a tad more energetic than I prefer, but that's just me being annoyingly picky, it's really a fantastic red and I think he said it should be released sometime after the holidays. Other honorable mentions that delivered reds that I've really enjoyed, Lucky's, Denette's, MitraMan, Fused Flora.

I much prefer the green-Reds these days. They're much more fresh and stronger. I feel the dull colored Kratom powders are weak. But the darker colored Kratoms make great blends.

I don't know what green reds vs dark reds means but I do know what feeling excellent for hours means and that's how I feel taking the red horned kratom I get
Hope you're doing good I'll PM you!

There's some "Red Vein" batches that are very green in appearance and then there's "Red Vein" batches that are dark green to brown in appearance. You been taking Kratom for 6 years I know you know what this is.

Yes the appearance differs but I base my experience and effects off of the strain and batch I take, not as much the color of it.Humble9300 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:05 pmMitraMike wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 6:14 amHey Nique--NiqueKristan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:11 am Which one do you prefer? But I'm vendor shopping. Recently got a bunch of mitraman and his stuff is the only kratom ive been able to feel for months. So I need vendors with equal quality. 4 or 5 to rotate with. And I love reds but I like them to be sedating. Some of the grreen reds are too stimulating for me

You have to have at least 5 posts to use the DM feature and you have 3 so far. Check out the Reviews section for vendors and batches. Also in the General section. Welcome and have fun!Valikth wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 7:37 pmCan you tell me which vendor u get this great red horn? Is that allowed here? Or you could dm me? I am just getting used to double m. edit: Also, I noticed you're asking questions about batches in posts from 1-2 years ago. This will give you no useful information, batches change from drop to drop.

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
Funny but I happen to remember what vendor. I've wondered what happened to Happy Hugs. I remember he said his only main vendor was Happy Hippo. But yea, would most likely not be current batch if they have it but he used them only for 6 years.
I prefer green reds but haven't tried many dark or fermented ones, I just find them unappealing but maybe missing out on something like Lucky's fave.

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
I prefer greens, if you want sedation or relaxation just take more powder. The whole red ordeal thing is I swear from people coming to kratom as a new consumer, and seeing reds=their favorite old vice. They get stuck in that buying the strongest reds for along time till one day they take greens and stay on greens. Now i understand some people actually need reds and use reds for accurate reasons but a vast majority could just buy green strains and be happy especially if they experiment with amount used and see different effects from that. Its kind of mind boggling more vendors dont speak up and instead were selling green color reds instead of just leaving reds red/brown
I prefer Green colored reds, i guess you could say that lol

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
Lately, my favorite way to take kratom is about 2g of a green colored red, then about 2 more grams of a bent. I can't take 4g of a green kratom without risking barfing my guts out, but somehow I can add all that extra kratom if it's fermented. I've been using bents from Lucky's, Denette, and TFH and really, really like them. I think it ups the pain relief aspect of kratom without giving me the wobbles, which I'm pretty prone to.

Re: Green reds or dark reds?
I love green reds the most preferably indoor dried. I like my reds almost indistinguishable from strains like luckys green md that is always super fresh, and green. An idea red to me is one that meets all the previous criteria while having a sedating, or relaxing effect. Though I tend to stay away from dark reds unless they are just as potent, fresh , and not totally oxidized. I remember loving the super red rhino from rhino first e drop it was pretty close to ideal. I do tend to stay away from greens only usually buying whites, and reds but there are a few a really enjoy so I like all colors to a certain extent but my favorite type of strains beside a fast strain like DRHK is the green reds with heavy effects. Nothing compares to finding a perfect green red that’s potent, fresh, and has really strong effects pain wise, and good relaxing properties to me anyway. Honestly hate bents that don’t do much for me except maybe in a really good blend but alone they are useless to me except if I made a really strong tea with it maybe. I also agree if you take enough of a good red strain if will get sedating eventually so I avoid the dark reds because they just don’t seem to be as potent as green reds nor as fresh with exceptions of course. I find going with small vendors that use testers is best if your picky about your red strains. Ones that can tell you more about there leaf because they tried it, and gave it to like half a dozen other people to try then report back the effects giving them much more info I think.
