Greens over reds for pain?
Can't find it now, but I am getting the impression from reading some posts that reds are weaker than greens. Does this mean less effective for pain? What are people's experiences with red or green for pain?
Usual disclaimers - Yes everyone's subjective experience is different, yes there is essentially no difference between strains, yes the color system is a sales tactic, yes all K comes from the same sole giant ass tree in South Asia.
Nevertheless (ignore that man behind the curtain), what has your experience been?

Re: Greens over reds for pain?
Unfortunately, like your disclaimers indicate, what I find is it's REALLY hard to tell.
The only general rule I've found that even *slightly* holds true is that reds are best at night. But when I take a strong white, or great green I get pain relief (or I wouldn't be able to play tennis). When I take a great red I feel the same relief but I also want to not be very active (which is why I take them at night).
(As an old man whose live is built around pain and for whom Kratom makes it worth living, I have TONS of experience on this issue).

I suffer from long term lower back problems, I personally have found strong greens highly effective at relief. Denette and lucky's Greens in particular do the trick for me during the day.bluebop wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 4:34 pm Can't find it now, but I am getting the impression from reading some posts that reds are weaker than greens. I've used Kratom since 2016 and in my experience just about everyone will find greens work for them. Reds and whites it seems, can be very hit or miss for a lot of people. Many, including myself, reds only hit in the honeymoon period. But I've also found that for some, whites don't work for them although they are my very favorite.

Reds work perfectly fine for pain, if you want simple pain re-leaf and none of the stimulants or less feelings what kratom gives, reds are perfect. There are times i dont want to feel any kratom feel, i try to find weakest reds for it and for pain it works great. oxidized reds have its place. But if you end up feeling even better even thought its red, more power to you. I love TFH reds, if can get some.

Greens hit the pain for me. Ive had several fusions plates and screws in my lower back. I get best relief from strong greens. I dont get the same relief from reds. Actual "red" powder actually keeps me up at night - kinda odd but true.

That's the annoying part. Everyone is completely different.

It's all part of the Kratom experience - we all have to go through it separately. We can help, and advise, but in the end the only expert on how Kratom will affect you is... you.
I kind of like that, though. To me one of the things that never gets old is trying a new strain and seeing how it will hit (or not, as the case may be). It's such an infinitely variable thing that it never gets old. I can't honestly think of anything else in life quite like it (perhaps those who are wine connoisseurs would have similar feelings).

Significant others are like that, that's why we keep on trying. Never had any that were similar. If you saw a pic of them all together, you'd be like...what?Kelleytoons wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 9:53 am It's all part of the Kratom experience - we all have to go through it separately. Green powder is the only thing that hits for me.... for pain, sedation, or fastness. Red, brown, and yellow powder dont do a damn thing unless they are a green powder...... If anyone recommends a red powder.... red strain let me know ill try it and confirm it doesnt work FOR ME.

Yep. Gotta be green. Sometimes OXIDIZED (KOG Red Aceh is one.) is ok but any kind of ferment does nothing.Trippyhippydippy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 11:54 am Green powder is the only thing that hits for me.... for pain, sedation, or fastness. Re: Greens over reds for pain?
For me, the best solution I've found is to blend green and red together for the best pain relief. More green in the daytime and more red in the late day/evening. They both have strengths in my book. Fermented reds alone don't do much at all for me, but when mixed with a good green they can synergize wonderfully. Green-colored "reds" on the other hand work wonderfully on their own for my pain, but not necessary better or worse than the green/red combo.

Thanks all. Reading about your experiences has helped, even if they don't match. When I say red, by the way, I mean labeled red. All the kratom powders I have are green in color even though more than half are labeled red.
Off to new adventures in green kratom land. And I keep forgetting about mixing.
